I would pay for it... if i am in the marketing for s2000 right now. As the car ages, you are gonna find less and less low mileage s2000s....
If i had a LBP with 26k miles... $30K starting bid... yes it is overpriced and rip off... so what? someone will buy it

As said, he'll easily get that and could probably ask more. Low mileage cars stock cars are going for a lot now just because they are getting harder and harder to find.

Sexy fucking spot, boiiiii...
my S has been getting love lately too
at almost 13K since my last diff fluid swap...decided it was time.
I opted to read up on S2KI before purchasing and settled on Lubrication Engineer's 1605...
the stuff is sticky and purple. Must be good...fuckin driveline feels like 100% pure placebo improvement in smoothness.
got to use my new ramps too

Future Classic? The Pick of the Day is a low-mileage example of the high-revving roadster

With the Future Classics Car Show, hosted by ClassicCars.com, happening today in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Pick of the Day celebrates a sports car highlight from Japan that started the new millennium with a rush of high-tech performance.

The 2000 Honda S2000 is a pristine, low-mileage example of this brilliant compact convertible, which first arrived in showrooms in April 1999 with a name that signifies the 2.0-liter engine displacement.

I'm about due for diff and transmission fluid too. I did GM Synchomesh for the transmission last time and have been happy with it, but I'm willing to change it up if someone has a better suggestion!

I think if Lubrication Engineers makes a transmission fluid with friction modifiers I'd be willing to give it a go as well...
I have like 14K since the transmission fluid...can't hurt to keep it fresh!

Ken...
Make sure to have a 23MM open ended wrench (I had the SAE equivalent) and a 24MM socket for the bottom bolt...
It's a tight space and not commonly owned socket and wrench sizes.

Maybe I should just keep mine...

In any case, the person asking for ~$26k for a MY00 car with almost 28k on it is pretty balsy...

They're composite and it was the first time using them so I figured I'd throw them under as a precaution.
I guess I'll be a little more worried when the Yukon is on em, although if that thing crushed the ramps and landed on me
it would probably not even make contact.

So I have what I think is a malfunctioning vent shutoff valve on the evap canister...I kept hearing it opening and closing the other day...
I will get under there and use my mechanics stethoscope to listen for what it is then swap it off that second hand evap canister I bought
a few months ago. That would explain the damn gas smell though if it's venting when it shouldn't.

I'll also handle the transmission fluid swap this weekend along with burping the damn air out of the coolant...it would explain why the
overflow tank keeps emptying...today while running the heat it got cold when at a light which tells me I didn't bleed it well enough last time.

Does anyone have a subwoofer in their S? A buddy showed off his new W7 in his Tahoe and it made me miss having a sub; I had one in the CL and TL for almost 10 years combined

I didn't like the idea of additional weight but honestly, you could probably live without a spare...
actually what I did last time was put in a spare subwoofer that sits inside the spare...then powered it with a tiny motorcycle amp.

No, it's so fvcking loud that the stereo is an afterthought to begin with lol.

I know a ton of people have wired in the OE sub from the RSX into the spare tire compartment though.

Do a foot well sub on the passenger side. Plenty of leg room over there already and you only lose about 2 to 3" of leg space after the install if I remember right.

This^. Best location for a sub in the S, hands down. No annoying buzzing or vibrations at all, minimal loss of legroom.

Here are pics of my install: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/mid-atla.../#post23670746

Finally bled my S2000 the "RIGHT" way according to Billman...
I noticed that my coolant overflow was always low and my heat was never hot at idle.
Caved and bought one of these no spill gravity feeds and absolutely love it (should have listened to @thoiboi long ago! )

The gist of it is you get it to temp with the cap off and topped off...then shut car off and squeeze upper radiator hose and open bleeder valve on head (only with car OFF)
tighten bleeder valve then release the upper radiator hose (or you will create a vacuum that sucks air back in)...repeat until heat is hot at idle...like scalding hot.
Feels good, man...

and this was just a cool shot I took one morning depicting the sharp cutoff!

I drove to work with the windows down and in a t-shirt today

I can also get by with just an oscillating fan in summer

Better yet, while my wage is probably 20% higher than a comparable position in a smaller market, my living expenses are probably 50-100% higher
