I love the Comptech exhaust on the S2000. I couldn't find one when I was looking for an exhaust, so I ended up with my Tanabe Medalion Touring, which sounds similar.
I might pick up a FIPK for the spring to complement it. How much sound does it add? It won't overpower the exhaust, will it?

Comparing my mom's stock AP2, it adds a little sound, but not as much as you'd expect from aftermarket exhaust.
I'm catless, but I'd imagine without the b-pipe / mid-muffler it would be louder.

Got a deal goin to buy my buddy's H&R Street Performance coils next month after he returns from the Dragon. Great deal and they're set up like my Tein SS...monotube with no rebound adjust and a soft feel...easy height adjustment, the way I like them. I've found all dual tube designs with separate preload feel hard on these old bones. :geezer:
Also...I shared on S2KI but figured I'd share here since nobody reviewed the hexomats with good pictures. Great deal at $55 shipped...after replacing the silver S's with oem and them getting dingy really quickly...I was hellbent on finding an all weather option like I have on the TL. These are perfect. I opted for the extended ones so they'd go over the crossmember...kinda wish they were more fitted there...but my carpet was looking worn so protecting it was more important to me.
The all weathers cost $55 shipped...can't be beat, Dennis...can likely go over the oem too. I personally can't stand protecting one thing by having to tolerate something ugly like that.
Might check out those all weathers since they protect the hump. I have been considering getting the jdm oem 4 pc mats but the price tag of $350+ is really hard to justify.
I liked doing that...but I really need to limit how much I beat on the car. The clutch smell made me think this car hasn't been hooligan'd too much. I enjoy just rowing through the gears...redlining etc.
Actually, had a high flow 63MM Berk on order to replace the oem cat that makes this ping pang sound every time she gets hot. But, Chip made me an offer to buy some of my previously owned parts for a great price... Soooo, attempting to cancel the order if it's not too late and I'll have the test pipe back in. I recall liking the sound with the stock exhaust.
Also, got my moddiction convex side mirrors in. Lovvveee them...I knew I had to have them again after buying this car. Felt like I was wearing blinders. Threw them on tonight and MAN, you can see EVERYTHING coming behind you without turning your head to look in the mirror. Must have...too bad they were immediately "out of stock" after I ordered...but I'm sure he'll get more. Spoon stick on rearview to tie in the whole blue convex theme is on the way too.
I hadn't had RWD since I was in HS. Being a Honda fan doesn't lend itself to that platform.
So, when I got it, I immediately felt like I needed to pick back up where I left off...which was, a 17 year old's mentality that I must go sideways and do as many burnouts as possible. At 36 though, with an appreciation for the car and the knowledge that if you constantly beat on it, there will be repercussions...I try and not do it too much.
Literally, I felt pressure in my head to justify my weekend car and I'd force myself to go nuts and try this or that and GO VTACCCCCKKKKKK RWWWDDDD ALL THE THINGS...which resulted in some serious near miss experiences that turned the lower portion of my seat from black to brown leather. Once I just chilled, or only did the occasional doughnut in the rain in an open area...or maybe slid out on a u-turn...but drove it with the idea that I'd try and be safe. Redlining isn't what I'm talking about...I still do that.
I'm only talking about losing control. I need more experience with RWD and maybe even some guidance. Work is sending me to a driving course...basically a paid for auto x for safety (fkn )...I am almost sure I can bring my own car in which case, I'll bring the S. I feel like that'll help me get a feel for how to react when oversteer happens etc...it just dawned on me with this car that when I've oversteered a corner, I have been turning the wheel the wrong way. So much to learn!
This is my first RWD performance car and I'll say I'm in the same boat as rockstar .. it has scared the shit out of me on multiple occasions (on & off the track) and I've grown to respect it.
Now that I have a little experience under my belt and getting to grips on how much annual tire cost is, I've calmed down quite a bit. (I went through 3 sets of rears in the first 12 months).
If it's raining and there's an empty lot, I go nuts ... if there's an annual mountain run I'll participate, but rarely will I willingly get the tail out at higher speeds.

Go to track events! or take one of those GT academy sessions.
You will learn how to control your car very fast in a safe environment. Not sure if something like that is available in your area, but it's about $100 for one-day session here in LA.
I was going to take a session last week when this AE86 organization was running one, but I couldn't find a pair of shitty tires in time.
Now that I have some track days and handful of high-speed spinouts under my belt, I can honestly say that I could have never learned to drive like how I drive at a track without tracking my car. It's just too dangerous on the public road.

I still remember your face after your very first track session!!!! You said you spun out and I was like NOOOOOO haha
Then I checked out your tires and they were like off brand on the front and back. I was like NOOOOOO again
Fun times man. We gotta go to Buttonwillow together. That track is just AWESOME!
