3.35 here, was 4.29 at peak. I'm happy for the moment. But remember our economy is tanking, there's an election and winter's coming I'm betting around january we'll all be back to where we were or worse.

Yep, pointless thread since you're still wrong. Gas is over $3 here (and plenty of other places based on previous posts). If gas was less than $3 everywhere, then you would've been right. Gas less than $3 in one place is meaningless to anyone who isn't there.

The national average is currently $3.16.

However if you look at this chart it looks like prices have a little catching up to do with crude so the OP might be right.

Damn it sucks for you guys in the northeast and in Cali. Gas went down again to $2.65 yesterday. GA has historically had cheap gas though. You guys in CA can blame the tree-huggers for alot of your gas cost (considering the ridiculous CA-only blends the gas companys have to send there and the state gas taxes).....

I'm happy to say gas went even lower in the last 36 hrs or so since my last reply. 3.19 for reg, down from 3.35(btw this is 87oct)
I also notice in trackruner's graph, that it would appear pump prices are out of sync with crude and retail. Right after the peak, pump prices stayed far higher proportionately. So yeah majin might be onto something if they coincide again.

Needs to drop a lot more and stay at depressed levels for a while before I roll back to my old driving habits. Until then, I will continue to conserve furiously.
