I don't watch Nascar, I just happened to see this on a feed somewhere. But judging from how they're racing, leaving the track seems to be commonplace.

hahaha I was thinking the same thing.....

F1 stresses very hard on the RACE DISTANCE....you cant just run thro a turn as you will have covered "less" distance....but in Nascar it seems like "chicane, whut chicane, i run thro that bish"

i didnt even know there were chicanes on a nascar track... who knew they made right turns!??

And yea F1 all at least one tire needs to be on track at all times or you may get a penalty if it was deemed your lap was quicker by having all four off.

WTF... pretty soon you won't even have to drive your car anymore... just let the computer do it. GREAT MOVE, so great. chalk that right up in the manual transmissions going away column... I'm all for technology and I think this will have good applications but it's sad that driving in general is moving away from the old days of the EXPERIENCE of driving.

Its funny you bring this up.

I remember being in elementary school and a lot of kids talking about how awesome flying cars would be. I was the only one that didn't want them, because then I couldnt do a burnout.

along similar lines.... Audi USA just posted this on their facebook...
Our Audi RS technology is track engineered for the driver...take it from the expert —> “With the TFSI engine, the car becomes an extension of you." —Tom Kristensen, eight-time Le Mans winner.
oh really? why is it an Auto trans then?

cool video tho

Looks like that was here in Arizona. IMO, an inexperienced driver like that should never have been behind the wheel of a high-performance vehicle like an E9x M3. Stupid.

I think it was an E46.

Sports car + inexperienced driver = bad

I could tell it was going to end badly when he was blatantly cutting into the oncoming lane to get through the turn. Its not a race track. If you cant hold the line within your lane, youre going way too fast.
