That 2nd to last pic of the cockpit is amazing. Look at the simplicity of that steering wheel and those toggle switches. And is that duct tape holding the wires to the left side of the cockpit wall? Crazy, but very cool....
When I was a Soldier, we used to call it 100 MPH tape. I guess it is.

There's also a similar speed tape for aviation that's aluminum based. Doesn't look professional but it does get the job done.
And yeah that cockpit is pretty bare compared to modern F1 cars, only one gauge (tach), a LCD display (probably for the Bosch Montronic ECU), some warning lights, few knobs (break bias), rear sway bar adjust (left level), and some switches.
What's interesting is this MP4/2C cockpit (1986 F1 car in those pics above that was driven by Alain Prost to the 1986 F1 championship) in contrast to the earlier McLaren MP4/2 car (that Nike drove to the 1984 F1 championship, basically the same chassis with some updates) that were developed by Niki Lauda (see below pic).
Those had far more gauges, probably due to Niki Lauda's fondness for gauges over Alain Prost who preferred simpler cockpit layouts.

Supposedly, he has a Valkyrie on order, along with 2 Regeras & an option on a Pagani.
To go along with the lowly McLaren 650S Spider.
