O2 extenders defoulers

O2 extenders defoulers
Not specific to a model.
I installed catless headers on a car, and the bung locations is directly with the under frame.
It currently has a tune to work the CEL light.
As is I cannot install the O2 sensors with the catlesd headers, I was thinking on buying O2 ninety degrees extenders. It will clear to have them installed, the question is wouldn't it affect the air fuel mixture??
I have read multiple forum threads and watch YT videos about spark plug defoulers and extenders, and everyone who installs them is to get rid of the CEL, not because of space to clear the O2 and make them fit. All say the CEL went away, from turbo cars, truck owners and regular joe, but none mention if their air fuel mixture got affected making the engine run leaner or richer.
The angle extenders will be for primaries O2 sensors.
How come not a single person has said anything about their vehicles running like crap, or they needed to get the car retuned?
If any, maybe a few said the cel light came back after a few months, and had to put a smaller restrictor, but thats about it.

Everyone talks about fixing CEL light
Nobody mentions if any changes AFR readings
In terms the O2 sensors are at a 90 degree angle and not direct into the exhaust stream

In short it will impact values!
By removing the sensor or changing how far it is from the exhaust stream you are not reading the true chemistry of the exhaust! It's like holding a metal detector and waving it around in the sky and saying you are getting no metal since there is none! Sensor won't read the right amount of unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Any way to install the O2 sensor with some fabrication in the right spot? Tap and weld a nut an inch further up for sensor?
