NY, Honda Finance, Title Certificate
When you finance a car you get a title certificate with the bank's name as the lien right?
I live in NY and bought my TL in NJ, financed with Honda finance. I was just looking for my title and I couldn't find it anywhere. I went to the NYS DMV website and you can check the status of a title certificate or a lien. The title issue date says: Title Not Yet Issued.
When you first finance the car and drive it home shouldn't you get a title certificate in the mail with the bank as the lien? When I fianced with NMAC I got it 1 month later. This is the second time this has happen to me when I finance through Honda.

You are correct, you get the title with a lien recorded on it. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for the title to be issued, depending on how quickly the dealer submitted all the info into the DMV. I think because you bought the car from out of state and the dealer has to use a broker/service to do DMV work, it might take longer.

This was August of 04 when I got the TL.
I'm trying to trade in my car now but the dealer insists of having the title physically in their hands before they will let me pick up the car. Couldn't really get any information from Honda Financing today because there was a blackout in MA I believe.
