Did they give you a rental? I would ask for a Genesis coupe to play around for a few days.

My dad's out of town so I've been driving the RL. Not a bad loaner if I may say so myself.

I got a call from the body shop today saying the painting procedure was complete and that they are waiting on one part before they can finish it. I did get to see the paint work and man they freaking NAILED IT!!!!! Even the orange peel texture is spot-on so I am very happy. Now just waiting for Friday to get it back.

glad to hear the end of this saga man. I'd be upset if they messed up anything about my new car.

Sounds like a great conclusion.

How long do you have to wait until you can start working on the paint again?

I can wash it immediately but I'm going to ask them about how soon I can re-seal the area for the upcoming rainy months. The rest of the car already has two coats of BFWD.

Not sure with the new water based paints as i havent had a whole lot of spray time with them yet but with typical paints even if they are baked in a booth you still want to wait 30 days, even if they say its ok to wax right away.

Got my car back!

Here is the main reason why I chose this body shop over all others; their paint match is superb and they even got a match on the orange peel which is borderline impossible to do. You seriously cannot even tell there was ever a problem here. I tried to get a better picture but we got about 8 feet of rain in the last 30 minutes so you'll have to forgive the shitty picture.

It does look pretty good from that pic. Just the right fender painted?

Must feel good to have your car back

I actually can't even tell what or where they painted....that's how good they are.

And yes it's great to have the car back.
