Not exactly a "barn find" but cool none-the-less
As some of y'all know, I rent a "caretaker apartment" on a horse farm owned by a family with three generations living on said farm. One of the curiosities I discovered when I moved in back in 2013 was an old truck covered in dirt and rags and rust and junk sitting way in the back of one of their shops. The truck was apparently purchased new by Granddad or even Great-Granddad back in the late 1940s or early 1950s and used in their family construction business for decades before being stashed in the back of the shop. Some time ago we pumped the tires up, rolled it out of the sop, and fired it up; the Grandson (or Great-Grandson) who now runs the show decided the truck was cool enough to have it restored.
Here's what it looked like when we first pulled it out of the shop:
Great news, we've finished the ground-up restoration pretty much everywhere except the seat covers and the wooden bed and side slat arrangement. Checked it out!
This thing should be fun to take to some classic car and truck shows.

That is quite nice. I'm sure that was a lot of work. A lot of love went into that.

This is awesome. Any chance lots of pictures were taken along the way of the restoration? Would love to see the work throughout the restoration. Makes me miss Terry's builds. Wonder how he and are doing?

Drained and refilled the oil, injected in a half teaspoon or so of oil into each cylinder. disassembled the carburetor, cleaned it out, reassembled it, put a battery in, used a breaker bar to slowly hand-turn the engine a few rotations, and engaged the starter. It took a few minutes of off and on starting attempts before you could hear the engine starting to hit once per every few rotations, and then it sprang to life.

Thanks folks, I'm crazy busy these days with a new job (same company, just a new gig) and the grandson who owns the truck has baby number four due in a couple of weeks, so the truck may sit in the shop for a while before we get to the woodwork for the bed and the skins for the seats.
