A little tricky today...installed the diff cover but trying to get all of the bolt holes lined up was a bear. What I would do for a lift.

A few more additions. The bench is recovered, the tips are installed and the diff cover is finally done. I installed a new SS grill (just waiting for the new emblem) as well as a new horn button and a new chrome master cylinder cover.

I started tearing down the front end today to find that things aren't as bad as I had thought. Control arm bushings and ball joints are good. I may need to replace the tie rod ends, but they're not too bad. I am going to install front lowering springs. There were new springs and shocks all the way around, but it seems the previous owner used BB springs.

I also just ordered a new rear bumper and liscence plate / gas door. The old ones were rusting and took away from the look. I'll try to post pics of everything done soon.

It's been a while since posting. Traveling way too much and had little time to play. Here's a few pics of the changes...

The new seat cover installed in the pic below. I actually put a new Chevy horn button on the grant horn that was there but decided it needed something more.

I have a great classic wood wheel on the way to help finish off the interior

Wow, that bumper is so shiny that it almost hurts to look at now!

How did you polish it up like that?

Wish I could take credit for polishing it, but I replaced the bumper with a new
"mirror chrome" bumper.

What are your plans for the car when you are done restoring it? What's under the hood?

Under the hood:

1970 Chevy LT1 350 Bored .030 Over (355 cu. in.)
10.5:1 compression
Pete Jackson Gear Drive
Edelbrock RPM Airgap Intake Manifold
.202 heads
Holley 700 CFM Double Pump Carb
570 Lift Cam
HEI Ignition With Curve Kit
Headers with 2-1/2" full exhaust
Just to name a few

Gonna do any paint to go with the new chrome?

the paint is perfect, as is the body. Maybe a 9 out of 10?

Just went back and looked at the pics. Paint is very nice.

The only thing that looks a bit rough is the headers. Are you going to re-finish them?

Car looks great though.

Not a 69, she's a 72...and not a true Yenko, only a tribute. That being said, SS cars started with LT1 small blocks in 1970. High compression and under rated at 350 hp.

OK, thanks. I knew they had a BB in the late 60's as I did some work on a Yenko Nova and a Yenko Chevelle for guys I knew. On the Chevelle, after I installed the new clutch assembly and scattershield and ds loop, the fellow took it out for a test drive and on one of the starts, the rear wrapped up so much it ripped the shock complete off its lower mounting.

It's nice to see the progress you are making. That wood wheel will really set off the interior.

She just made the cover at SNS. It's a nova only site with over 21,000 members. It's a good feeling and I never saw it coming.

I just got an email from Classic industries. They're the largest supplier of OER parts in the country. They're doing a full write up on the nova and publishing it next week.
