Nissan 350Z 6 spd manual...

How to shift to reverse on 350Z? I know this may sound stupid, but I was not able to back out the 350Z in the dealer parking lot for a test drive. I tried to move the shifter to far right but it seemed the furthest it can go is 5-6th gear area. The sales was pretty unknowledgeable with this car. Oh, I have been driving CLS 6 spd for more than a year already. Is there a trick or the tranny on Nissan just suck?

not all cars reverse is on the far right of the shifting gate,

some cars it's on the left and down.

you may have to push it down, as in towards the ground and then into sixth, thats how some cars are... or pull up a lever and shift over, i can't remember what the 350 is...

I thought about pushing it down after I left the dealership.. dang that sales.. he should know it. He too was trying hard to shift it into "R" directly.

PUSH down, all the way to the right and DOWN...

Like going into 6th... But you MUST push down, or... Well, you'll go into sixth.

actually on the CL-S 6MT you can't go into 5th or 6th from a stop. there's some kind of block on it that prevents you from doing that.

why, you don't like it anymore? I am not really interested in 350Z. I went to the Nissan dealer to find out why some of the CLS ppl trade in their CLS for 350Z.

For the supra you'll see a ring around the base of the shifter. Pull up on the ring and the shifter will go further to the right and down.
