PM from MSF...we were just talking about this and bow:

Ok guys, this shit is getting out of control again.. So, this is now going to be a rule and it will be enforced starting, now.

There will be no flaming, hazing, harassing or abuse whatsoever in the new member section period. Anyone caught doing so, will be instantly infracted. Second time, ban for 7 days... strike 3, 30 days.. and a 4th, permanent. This ALSO goes for any staff...

What you are creating is a hatred towards this forum. ALL of you were newbs here and i will bet at least 85% of you did not go through what the current brownies are going through. This is killing our growth and support for the Gen2 platform. This shit needs to stop.... I have never in 3.5 yrs operating this site, received so many negative emails, request to delete accounts, etc. All you will effectively do, is kill this forum due lack of income from new members not supporting the site and driving away older members. It was NEVER like this before and now its getting worse and worse.

What also needs to stop if the attitude and harassment for stupid questions being posted. Sure, it may be annoying at times, but either move on from thread and post a simply reply telling them to search, or just help out. In case you forgot, this is what this forum was about to begin with.

I appreciate your help and support on this change, thanks.

So hope this stops all the shit over there

Ugh I was hoping to install everything this weekend but I'm still waiting for the Tokicos to be delivered. The guy sent the UPS tracking number last week but it never updated past "the label has been created" so I have no clue if they even shipped yet.

Apparently UPS lost the shocks and the seller isn't getting the rear shocks back in stock until mid-September. Go figure. So I cancelled my order and picked up a set of used Tokicos with 27k miles on them from the Mazda 6 Club classifieds. Hopefully I should have them next week. It works out better anyway because there's some debate on the ride quality of the Tokicos, so if they suck I've only spent $100 shipped on them verses $280 for a new set. So far between the H&Rs and the Tokicos I've spent a total of $220 shipped lol. Classified sections FTW!!!

Who knows, maybe I bought a test pipe with the money I saved.

I've been watching the price drop for the past three weeks. I finally decided to call the guy today and snagged them. I think he started at $250. I'll probably just strip them, paint them dark metallic silver, put on a few clear coats and call it a day.

Yep, craigslist can yield some serious bargains.

So for right around $500 spent so far on mods I've bought springs, shocks, wheels, an iPod connector and a 3" test pipe. Definitely can't complain about that!

You guys just might get your wish. I'm curious about tire sizing when I drop it and just my luck two of the wheels have 225/45/18 and the other two 235/40/18, so I might be test fitting them before they're all stripped down. I'll take pix.

I can't wait either! It's not easy finding the time to work on the car now with a little one to take care of, but soon enough. I tried installing the OBX test pipe last night but one of the spring bolts that holds the cat to the down pipe was not cooperating so I'm either going to have to take it to a muffler shop to have them get it off or I'll have to try and cut it off with my dremel at home. Hoping it'll give me a tad more exhaust sound. If so it was well worth the $80. If it doesn't off it goes to the classifieds section lol.

I can tell you right now that the sound does NOT change at all with a TP. It's just good for 10hp/tq, that's it. Beside a CBE, a downpipe is what makes your car sound deeper, not test pipe. Also the downpipe will give you the most gain among all bolt-ons. So, a lot of people actually just get the downpipe since the CBE does NOT yield very little to no gain in performance.

Check out this image:

I know this is for MS3, but it's pretty similar to MS6 system.

Thanks for the info, yo. I guess it will at least give me a little hp boost then. Was kind of hoping it would give me a little something for exhaust note but I guess not. Oh wellz.

It's offical... OBX is the worst aftermarket part manufacturer ever. I've heard about how horrible their fitment is on their exhaust systems, but come on, how hard can it be to make a test pipe that fits half way decent? Well it's obviously beyond OBXs capabilities. The cat that it's supposed to replace has angled flanges. The OBX test pipe? Completely perpendicular which made the cat back angle down drastically which created a huge gap and leak at the down pipe. On top of that the exhaust donut they supplied was too small so it wouldn't fit over the end of the down pipe so I had to use the stock donut which has seen better days. $90 down the drain, $50 to have rip-off kings Meineke break the spring bolt loose and an entire afternoon spent fumbling around on my back only to put it back to stock. FML. /endrant

Just came across this thread on Mazda 6 Club. Interesting alternative to the EGR block off plate, OCC and Pills.

Not only that this will keep the intake clean on DI engines as the valves completely close on boost on the PCV valve side unlike the leaky stock valve and it closes completely on the intake side to build vacuum at idle. This really works. No more gettho rigging, no more crappy ptp pills.

Aaron, what do you think about this? I haven't checked to see if there's any post on the Mazdaspeed Forum yet so not sure if it's B.S. or not. It seems to make sense the way they describe how it works on their site.

Never heard of it before.

Tell you what. If you get a Cobb AP, you can change your idling RPM. The stock is like 750rpm, I've changed to 975rpm, and I was told that this helps us tremendously in keeping the engine clean. This is a good alternative to getting the EGR block off plate.

Also, it's a good idea to install an OCC if you are planning to keep your car for a long time.

As you know, I bought the very slightly used one from this MSF member, but I haven't had a chance to install it yet..
