New member intro with ABS issue.....

Hello Everyone -

I kinda stumbled upon the forum by accident this evening. I own a '97 3.0 Base with about 193,000 miles (all mine). I do have forum experience as I also own a 1987 BMW 5 series, and am a member of MyE28.com. My CL is also known in my household as 'old reliable' - this car is just awesome!! Aside from a few issues years ago with the infamous EGR value problems - my car has so far been a tank! I'm on my third timing belt, water pump, and other belts and hoses - but I now have an issue that's getting to me.

This after noon the ABS light for the first time since purchase came on. The dealer here in STL said that each of my rear wheel speed sensors are done. I don't have much experience in making repairs but I'm very anxious to start learning. AcuraOEMparts.com sells the sensors very cheap compared to other dealers - so I know where to get them......I'm just looking for some guidance as far as how difficult the job is to replace them. Lastly - if I do replace them myself - does the ABS light turn off by itself, or do I need to have it reset?

Many thanks - and thank heavens I found this forum!!

Lou

If you want to, invest in a helm's service manual. They are a great reference to have when doing repairs on your own car.

You're off to a good start.

Especially by ordering parts from acuraoemparts.com. I've ordered a lot of parts from their site and have saved a lot of money by doing so. If you sign up for their newsletter, every once in a while you'll get a code for an additional 5% off their already highly discounted items.

Good luck!
