New Kansas City Acura showroom that "no one wants to leave"!!!

I am wondering if this article on the renovated Kansas City Acura dealership has been posted somewhere already?

http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/kans...-to-leave.html

I hope that the other Acura dealerships will take note! :-)

That's the dealer that hosts/sponsor the annual national acurazine meet.

Yes, this is Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City, MO. The dealership is beautiful! You guys should come to the National Meet just to see this new dealership!

"Yes, this is a game changer," he said.
Well, besides the champagne & fireplaces, not really. Other brands have stepped into this realm long before, just depends on the dealership owner. Our workplace already offers most of these amenities towards our client base as well, though lifetime oil changes will be hard to beat.

Glad that an Acura dealer is stepping into this idea, though.

Several Acura dealerships I've been to over the years were nearly as nice and had Tier 1 service. Tier 1 service rates too @ $100 an hour. But they also did a great job and included loaners.

$90-$100/hr isn't bad considering the level of service that you get vs the regular mechanic stuff, who charge something like $75/hr anyway, and no loaner.

If only they sold desirable cars.

Might as well be a Dacia dealership.

Very nice. A good dealer experience makes for buyers who are more inclined to stick around when their leases are up/in need of a new car. Opposite holds true also...I'm not going to visit a dealer again who holds me in a smelly waiting room with plastic folding chairs and fluorescent lighting.

When I'm buying/leasing, I expect to be in and out ASAP-- my last two vehicle deals were settled over the phone, with paperwork completed in less than a half hour upon arrival to the dealership. The lounges might be useful for spouses, friends, kids, etc. who aren't signing paperwork, though.

The waiting area(s) should be nice for people who are waiting for service or inspections to be completed. I'd prefer to hang out in a lounge sipping coffee, snacking and surfing the internet while waiting for a service to be completed than sit in a hard chair with 6-month old women's magazines in a holding pen.
I'd stay away from the alcohol unless I had a driver, though.

I often grab a drink or a donut when I go to the Acura dealership parts departments.
The nearby Honda dealerships don't have soft drinks, snacks or comfy lounges.

Acura really needs to update their dealership showrooms. All the one's I've been to in Northern California are much worse than their Honda counterparts let alone other luxury brands. The service may be good, but the showrooms are terribly outdated. Some don't even have cable tv.

FWIW that's "cheap" @ $100.

Around here, $125-$150 is more commonplace for tier one service.

It really looks great. They'll have it open during the National Meet in early June-plan to be in KC!

Pretty sweet. My local dealership has a lot to offer as well, but not to the level of Jay Wolfe. Btw, Acurazine meet date is confirmed as 6/8/14 so hopefully I'll be able to swing the time off and make a trip out there to check it out in person.

I don't know... I don't see June 8th. It says typically that's the week they usually hold it. No where do I see a confirmed date in that quote.

Could be the 7th...

The meet is always on a Sunday. So therefore the Sunday before Fathers day is...wait for it... The 8th. And he said "I would go ahead and mark your calendars". It must be his old age setting in

Yes, I would agree Reno Acura is nice. (Warm cookies, yum!) There is a nice showroom, waiting room and theatre room. They also have the usual amenities of free wi-fi, warm & cold drinks, snacks, etc.

The Acura dealership from which I procured my 09 and 12 MDXs is a throwback dealership (read: old) but good deals abound.

However, the Honda dealerships where I got my 07 Accord and current 12 Accord have some of these features (lounges, free WiFi, kids play areas, snack bar). But neither come near *.
