New car time...update: Purchased '01 325i

I hope so. How about this one. Miles are kinda scary but its a 5MT 330i. One of the very few I found so far.

I have emailed him for the VIN and I am going to run an autocheck report on it and if I go to check it out I am taking it to the dealer for inspection.

You should be able to get 200k out of it I would think. I've seen 3-series of varying vintages with 250-300k miles on them.

I live in Wisconsin...FWD is probably the smarter choice anyway although I'm not opposed to purchasing winter tires if the right RWD car would be available.

If you find a car like that with all the service records (and I mean all of them) and it's 1-owner and he's more anal retentive than Mr. Bean then I think it's worth considering that car.

I emailed a couple people who didn't list their number on there but I haven't heard from any of them yet. I am going to check this 01 330i 90K miles tomorrow. 2 Owners, all belts changed, new spark plugs and stuff along those lines, new tires. Needs interior cleaning. Rest I'll check out tomorrow. Its automatic though. I am loosing my patience..

So I am so fed up from these people. They list their cars on craigslist. Some don't provide phone numbers so I email them. 2 days passed, no reply.
Some post their phone numbers and they don't even fucking answer. I leave voicemail, no reply. Some post their expired or out of service numbers, even the dealers. Fucking nutjobs.

Tried that. They got nothing really in my price range. Craigslist is my best friend and I have found a few which I am going to check out tomorrow morning. Hope it works out for me.

So I found what I was looking for in my price range. A 2001 325i 5 speed 97K miles $7000. Clean title, one owner, all service records available. Few scratches from SF parking. I will post pics tomorrow after washing.

Yes, I bought it today. I needed a car to go to work and this car popped up on craigslist. Car is clean, drives really nice and visually inspected and all looked good and rest was verified by Autocheck and service records.

So this is the car I came home with yesterday. One owner 2001 325i 5 speed manual, 97K miles. Dunno about what trim it is but its got everything I needed. Clean car with all the service records available. Pics..
Got some plans already like 02+ tails with clear flasher (aka euro style I think), projector headlights with angel eyes and clear (maybe smoked) corner lights.

The car looks pretty clean. Enjoy it.

Do you mean something like this..
I really like these rims. If I find anything reasonable priced, I'll buy them.
Thanks.

I don't know, looking at pictures and comparing them to a neighbors 325xi your car does not sit on "i" suspension, it looks way too high to me. By that I mean your car looks like it sits an inch or so higher than a 325i non-sport package should sit.

Thanks guys. I got plans already. I bought the TL from insurance today and I am going to part it out. All the money I get from parts is going into this car. Tint and lights coming first and then the rest of the stuff.

And while cleaning the trunk today I found that I got my car for $6998, found $2 in pennies, quarters and dimes.

Three Wheelin'
Congrats on a nice E46 at a great price...
As a former E46 owner, I can tell you you'll be giddy with all of the aftermarket goodies you can add to your E46. Regarding wheels, CSLs are sweet, but the tires are damn expensive. My advice, given that you only spent $6998 on the car, I'd stay in the efficient end of the wheel spectrum.
For example, E90 wheels fit the E46 perfectly...you can find all sorts of E90 wheel/tire packages on CL, eBay, e46fanatics .com, e90fanatics .com, etc. Here was my 2003 325i with 2009 328i coupe wheels (Type 157s):
Also, one of the most inexpensive options is to get E46 M68 17" wheels...these are all over the place and look great on any year E46:
You can PM me with any questions you may have regarding your E46...happy hunting

I had those as winter wheels on my E46. They are cheap, plenty available and are my 2nd OEM favorites (style 96 is 1st but they are rarer).
One important benefit is the easiness to wash. BMW have typically a lot of brakes dust and you don't want to clean those CSL continuously trust me.
