Thumbs up New bike just got delivered!!

Well, I finally decided on a bike and pulled the trigger. The shipper just dropped off the bike about about 3 hours ago or so... so I snapped some pictures quick

It's a 2007.5 with 1054 miles. Mods include Leo-Vince Hi-Mount Exhaust with carbon finishers, "Map2" ECU update, Undertail kit, 15t sprocket (makes it more streetable at low speeds for city driving), upgraded Michelin Pilot "Powr" tires, and bar-end sliders.

So for those speculating... the bike is:

And the first mod is complete. Changed the rear signals to clear with European lenses. Here's the mod in progress . You can see the completed look in the pics above.

Absolutely gorgeous. I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. I love Aprilias, and have at times thought about getting a Caponord.

Again, congrats.

Yeah. I pretty much told the bank they could have the house if they wanted it... or I could help them sell the store (versus them auctioning off the equipment for next to nothing) and in turn they release the lien. They agreed.

So we have a few people interested and are working through everything with them to get a sale done...

Thanks Terry. I was talking a lot about the SV's, but then decided against it. I really wanted a Ducati but didn't feel like getting the valves aligned and the other maintanance, so decided to go another Italian route...

BeemerKiller - It was $8500.

All great bikes. I was originally set on a Street Triple, but that bike new would have cost close to $10k out the door after taxes, licensing, dealer prep and maintenance package... and that bike is only a 675cc. The Speed Triple is even more money. I loved them both, but bang for the buck I could not resist the Aprilia Tuono. Plus, I really wanted an Italian bike, but did not want to worry about the maintenance of a Ducati. Also, I know a few Ducati owners and wanted to be different.

So I figured $8k-$9k for a Tuono (1000cc), $9500k-$10k for a new Street Triple (675cc) since there are not that many good used ones floating around, or $9500-$10k+ for a used Speed Triple (1000cc).

You can spend even less then I did on a Tuono if you get one with a little more mileage and less extras. I've seen a few in the $7500-$8500 range on the Aprilia forum with low miles (under 5k) and a few less upgrades. So they are a great bargain right now which is why I made that decision. And after a quick ride around the neighborhood yesterday just to get a feel I am soooo glad I did. Couldn't stop smiling and I only took it 1.5 miles in the community

^ I haven't been over 25mph yet b/c I don't have tags yet, so just putting around the community... but there are always a lot of kids playing, etc... so I do not speed around.

From what I've read the stock screen provides pretty good protection up to about 80mph. I am in the process of doing some research now and will likely get a slightly bigger screen. There's a 25 page thread about screens on the Aprilia forum (which is a lot for that forum) so I'm just trying to find a screen with the best balance of looks and functionality. So it's on the list, just trying to figure out which one and when

Cool. Becoming a giant sail in the wind sucks when you are rocking the triple digits club.

...btw your bike keeps looking cooler the more pics you post

Great looking bike. I know nothing about bikes, but I would imagine it's a great performing one, too, since I can't see you pissing away $9k if it wasn't. Perfect timing with spring/summer here .

Thank god it has dual headlights. I hate it when bikers leave their high beam on. And I know they leave them on so people can spot them easier...

Have you thought about replacing the side mirrors with some bar end mirrors?

http://www.motorcycleworldl-spa.co.u...nd_Mirrors.jpg

^or something similar

Again, congrats on a sweet bike.

Thanks all! Yeah, it's odd, a lot of bikes have a bug kind of look to them. Wonder if they take design cues from the insect world

LOW - I have been looking info bar-end mirrors. I must say though that the stock mirrors provide an excellent field of view. I have been reading up on it though. My first purchase will likely be a new windscreen, then maybe the mirrors.
