NEW 350z/New G35/ & NISMO Z ***PICS*** 56k DEATH!!
For the 2006 model year, the 350Z receives some welcome improvements. Bi-xenon headlights and LED brake lights are now standard. Cosmetic exterior changes--always debatable--include a tastefully revised front fascia and grille. As first reported in The Mole, new 18-inch cast wheels with increased brake rotor size (for non-BremboR brakes) are standard on most models.
All 6-speed models now have the 300 horsepower rev-up engine (automatic transmission Zs continue with the 287 horsepower engine) and all models get a new speed-sensitive steering system. Interior refinements, long overdue, include new cloth seat material and revised HVAC controls and gauge styling.
The BoseR audio system now has MP3 capability and a new navigation system is available.A Grand Touring coupe model--essentially a Touring model with BremboR brakes, front and rear spoilers, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)--has been added to the lineup.
Sure to please enthusiasts, both the Grand Touring and Track models get RAYS super lightweight 5-spoke forged-alloy wheels--18"x9" in front with 245/40-18 tires and 19"x10" in the rear with 265/35-19 tires--for improved handling and visual impact. We're sorry to see the exterior color Ultra Yellow disappear, but three new colors arrive: Silver Alloy, Magentic Black, and Interlagos Fire.

The lease on my Z is up in about 6-7 more months. The changes aren't exciting enough for me to consider it again though. I was hoping for a FI model for 2006, but I guess I'm out of luck.

....gotta give Nissan some credit. They do seem responsive to consumer critiques about their interiors. First the Altima and now the Z.
I just spent some time looking at a Z Roadster in the showroom of my Nissan dealership (where I just leased a Murano SL AWD ) and the interior pics shown above looks 'leaps and bounds' better than what I saw.

to nissan for listening to feedback and making some smart changes to the z. i wouldn't buy it though. it needs something under the hood that will make people say 'wow'. i'm thinking it needs 350-400hp engine at least as an option.

I'm glad to see that the G35 got the Bi-Xenon Headlights as well. I just think projector lamps give the car a more cutting edge style.
The improved materials in the Z are a much welcomed addition. I sat in my friends '04 and the faux-carbon fiber weave seats did not sit well with me. Oh, and the NISMO Z is the win!
Good job Nissan

I agree 100%. As I mentioned above, the only thing holding me back from getting another Z is the fact that it needs more ponies under the hood especially in this day and age where you have Chryslers with 400+hp

I rode in my friends 430 rwhp APS TT Z yesterday and was amazed. If I didn't buy my stang, I would buy an 06 350Z Enthuz and right away order the APS kit.
