New 2016 TLX V6 lease vs 2014 328i (F30) lease take-over
Now is the time or never.
I can get both for about the same monthly payment.
I drove both.
TLX: I love the V6 engine, but the punch is not quite it. The platform/steering is a great handler, but no shifter and the exterior is well, insipid.
328i: Most of the right stuff that I am used to and loved. Exceptions; the hopeless sound of a 4-cyl. and the general feeling that is disconnected.... should be a Volvo, really. Still a BMW, though. I can have a 428i sedan 2016 (courtesy car) for $100/mo more.

I'd get the 428 and add the tune to it. They make monster power for such a small engine.
If you were going to buy a car, TLX no doubt. For lease, BMW all the way.

Not a Saintor thread without turbo or diesel or turbodiesel bashing.
I vote 320i with ESP control.

I hated every F30 328 i had driven and loved the 428 sport loaner so much I sold the 335 and got a 435i.
Go figure...

The only RWD 3-series available here is the 340i and 435i Coupe and they lease for $1000/mo. Not even the 320i! It would be $7K more than the 428i GC xdrive. I am also afraid to be bored with an automatic, once our little manual Civic gone.
I can't live with the 2-door of a M235i.
I guess that I can afford a 2016 M3 or ATS-V but I am not prepared to do that.

I hear you about the xdrive comment. I would rather not to and a manual. But looking for RWD is like looking for an unicorn, M-cars aside. Even the TLX V6 is AWD only over here.

ALL my previous primary cars had been 6mt since my 01 CLS and there have been a lot of them.
I probably worried more about having the 8AT than you are now but the truth is, I am perfectly happy with the 8AT. It is smooth if you want it to be smooth but it has the "Power shift" feel when it is in the Sport Auto + Sport+ mode. Probably the closest thing to a DCT with a torque converter.
Hard to explain in words but it is NOT a boring auto tranny. But do i wish to have a MT car still? yah but i can live with THIS 8AT.
The problem i have with X drive is not because it is AWD, but because it is significantly higher (4x4 look) and it does not have any sort of Sport suspension regardless if you get the Sport or M sport. The thinner rear wheels then make it look even worse.

Ok, working out the details,
In Yankee money tax in, 12K miles/year all 2016 new cars, this time.
Of course, the Bimmers have standard maintenance included... and no room for a spare tire!
What AZ says ?
Notes:
In Yankee money tax in, 12K miles/year all 2016 new cars, this time.
- TLX V6 AWD : $372/mo 36 mo
- 428i Xdrive : $481/mo 48 mo $730 down or $496 overall.
- 328i xdrive: $467/mo 48 mo $730 down or $482 overall.

Notes:
- I am not "in love" any of these cars.
- The Acura TLX would be less long of a burden if there isn't love to be found. The V6 is all glorious grade, although there is no shifter, only paddles. The new BMW shifter is not that great, though.
- The 328i has many LCI updates that the 428i doesn't have. It has standard NAVI. But it has a piano black known to scratch just looking to it. Easier to get in Coral Red interior, which looks great to me.
- Real leather in the Bimmers, simili in the Acura.
- The 428i is an hatchback, really. Very practical.

So the 428i is the GranCoupe?
I dont like the idea of 48 months lease.
If you can get the 428iGC with a 36 months lease term with the same #s, then that is the one i would go with.
You will be amazed how much better quality the equipment they used in the BMW than the one in the TLX.
But if the current #s stay, i would go with the TLX.
btw: BMW's Free maintanance is #1. Not free, nothing is free. #2. it is more of a marketing thing than actual savings. just FYI. At 10k per oil change, how much $$ are you really going to save? Brake pads at 30k miles and wiper...well that is almost anytime.

The Acura is the most sensible choice for a lease financially. No money down and 36 months. Just do it already and put the rest of the money in savings so you can buy a 428 eventually. Of your list, the 428 is the sexiest. Who would buy a 328?

Yah normally i would go with 428 (nonXdrive) but in your case, i think TLX makes more sense to you since you can't get RWD there and it is much cheaper.

I agree. If my BMW's buyer doesn't chicken out, I'll be a TLX V6 owner this month. 0% lease on 36 mo, unbeatable for value.... let's hope that its soul won't bore me. But it is certainly capable.

Just remind yourself how cheap the car is... you will feel better.

After dealing back and forth with the youngster who bought my car, signing the papers at Acura next week.... after 2 BMW this is a shock! But I am putting my money where my mouth is... well *almost*.

I could already kinda predicate how you will feel after a month... but remember #1. It is only a lease #2 your payment is much cheaper

No 6MT in the Bimmers? No care.
I'd definitely go with the TLX in this situation and then get back to the Bavarians after a few years. You can't beat the deal that Acura's giving you.

Basically my position. I was flabbergasted that I couldn't get a new BMW in stock under $60K.
After 11 years, I am officially BMW-less as tonight. 2016 TLX V6 AWD on order.
