It'll look soooo much better with a drop I'm suspecting.

Personally I would never purchase aftermarket wheels unless I planned on dropping the car at the same time. Suspension and wheels should always be hand in hand IMHO.

Thanks for the Photoshopped drop! Sightly higher would be a little better, maybe 1/2 way between stock and what you've got.
I know you were referring to the very low Photoshop.....but I will throw in some props to the PS2s . Best performance tires I have ever used. They handle great, are predictable in the turns, and do very well in the rain. Too bad they cost an arm and a leg--$382 each for the front and $406 for the rear the last time I checked at Tire Rack. On the V forum, a lot of folks are trying to find cheaper alternatives, but after every attempt the PS2s stand on top of the pile. GM chose well for this car.
On this car, we need springs that behave well with the magnetic ride control. That's why there's only one available option for us. BTW...MRC FTW as well. I'm in Sport mode constantly and it is perfect for this enthusiast driver.

Man, I love this car and my wife is driving me crazy to purchase her a CTS coupe 3.6. However....
I simply cannot bring myself to like your wheels I'm afraid they are way too small and too simplistic looking for this car. I would think a style similar to the original wheels but with more spokes would add even more sophistication to an already sophisticated car. Something like this:
Of course it's your car and I'll probably never own a car as nice as yours in my lifetime, but just think how a set of 21s like the ones on the last two pics would look on your ride with a drop! Just an opinion of course...worth less than even...

TWO YEARS OF AUTOMOTIVE FUN...and bliss
My car was born on 3/13/2009. It was in my hands two years ago, on 3/20/2009. It now has 23.7k superfun miles on it.
In the last year, I have had both front door handles replaced. The SAME thing happened to my RL when I owned it! Otherwise, no other unexpected issues. This car is really reliable! Yes, I'm shocked too.
Same mods as before. The only mod I have planned for this year is a larger intercooler for when I go to the drag strip. It will help keep the engine cooler for longer.
Not planning on trading in anytime soon. If I buy/lease another car in the near future, it will be in addition to the V.
Some pics after Zaino two days ago, yes in the cold (it's only 30 degrees here...). The stockies are on the car, with Pirelli SottoZero winter tires on them. I'm about a week from changing over to the summer wheels.

Bob, I'm so pumped that you actually drive your V. Winter tires and all...it's a beautiful thing.

Congrats on two years of happy motoring. That has to be a blast to drive every day. You might have discussed this already, but how does it do in the snow with the snow tires on?

The sedan in Crystal Red is hot.
It's like crack. Once you've tried it once, you can't keep your hands off of it. I never, ever get tired of driving it. And if I am a little bored in it, I find the nearest freeway on ramp, switch the transmission to sport mode, and hit the accelerator. Boredom gone! That does NOT get old. Ever.
Talk to me when I've got 50k miles on it. So far, so good. BTW, Consumer Reports rates the 2009 CTS-V Above Average reliability.
I've driven in every major snowstorm in Cleveland the last two winters. I've had only minimal issues. Then again, I know how to drive. I think. Snow tires + Stabilitrak + extra weight in trunk + knowing how to drive=not getting stuck. Would I prefer SH-AWD + snow tires? Sure, but Honda/Acura let that ship sail.....boooo to them for not bringing over the V8 Mugen Legend. I wouldn't have a V if they'd brought that over. Water under the bridge, though...
Anyway, proof of the concept of driving my 650 hp beast in the snow...

Yup. And many of them above market value, too. The true enthusiast wants the manual without sunroof ("weight savings" and fewer squeaks).
Thanks!

Why, space? Just get rid of the passenger seat. That way you've got more than enough space for the kiddie seat, and you don't have to worry about the wifey being scared and always keeping your speed in check

Others move on to lesser cars with better fuel economy and are less expensive. Surprisingly, I can't think of anyone who switched to BMW or Mercedes, though this may reflect that many of those who post on the V there are American car aficionados.
As I stated above, I'm keeping the V and will probably add a TSX wagon in the next year or two.

The biggest switch has been from the V sedan to V Coupe. Yes, really. The next common switch is from V sedan to Vagon.

Yea its weird, no one switches to the CTS-V on the M3 forums either. I would think it be the next car to look at after the M3. But as seen even here, people tend to trade in their M3s or another M3.
Heres the really odd thing, many of them trade in their M3s for the GT3. This switch still baffles me since i dont consider that even close to being the same segment or a slight upgrade. Thats a leap! Just wondered if the CTSV guys did the same type of thing. Like if they went from the CTSV to the ZR1 or something.

I just wanted to say in here, when I was walking home from work today, I was startled by the sound a CTS-V made as it drove by. I mean, it like barked at me. really loud. man what a sound! I was like gdang... that was a CADILLAC!!!!?!?!!!?!? beast.

I was behind one (1st gen) on the way to work this morning trying my hardest to keep up in the Speed6. I'm sure the Caddy was barely trying. As I finally caught up a few lights down I look over and it's a mid-50s woman sipping her coffee. I chuckled.

Same here. See so few of them that when I do see one I pay attention. The car sounded like an animal.

i got the itch again... i have been online the last week checking out pricing... right now GM seems to have the annual 0% 60 month financing deal (1.9%@72 months also available) with $3000 cash incentives until Sept 6th...
there is a Vagon 6spd MT at the dealership near my house... i may go check it out this weekend since it doesn't have many details online about what is included but i'm guessing it is fully optioned out since they are asking $72k for it... i thought these cars MSRP at $62k? why the 10k jump?
