It's a JDM thing (errrr something); you (and I) wouldn't understand.

Don't take this the wrong way, but without the wheels, the car doesn't look especially theft-attracting.
Take them off and get some winter wheels and tires for like a thousand bucks. You will have $6,500 left over.
My car looks more out of the ordinary than yours, and I park it everywhere. Lansing, East Lansing... even DETROIT!! You're accusing others of being sheltered, but I think you need to stop being so spoiled and face reality. Nothing personal... but you're acting like your TSX will be stolen in a heartbeat if you parked it on a street somewhere, and you're looking into an Audi as a winter beater at age 20? Good for you that you have the money to do it, but it just doesn't make sense. Besides, who says a winter beater has to be AWD? You can get a fuel efficient FWD car with good snow tires (wait... isn't your TSX a fuel efficient FWD? ) and you'll be fine. Like I said, get some winter wheels and tires for like a grand and have money left over, instead of having to pay out the ass for the maintenance of two cars.

...and having survived a few Rochester winters in my FWD CLS, I'd agree with Pure Adrenaline. You don't need AWD. I think you'll be surprised with snowfall out here. It gets reaaaaaaaaaaally fucking cold, but there isn't all that much snow. If you're looking for snow, take a drive out to Buffalo

An alarm with an LED that flashes has been my best investment. I used to have two cars and there has to be very good reasons for it to last (your fun car gets 9mpg). It was almost a waste of money for me.
Drive the car. Enjoy it. Something is bound to happen to it eventually anyway.

Seriously dude, it's a TSX not an Enzo. Put some winter rubber on it, tint the windows, and you'll be fine. This is like a guy with a Trek buying a Huffy to ride to work....stupid!

i'd also like to know what this "sponsorship" includes? A free case of oil or what?
It's definatly FAR from a show car

It's along the lines of the decalkits.com or house of boom sponsorships. Far from a true sponsorship. They are quite popular and if I recall include some free oil and stickers.

the majority of sponsorships these days are jokes. "put our decal on your car, we'll give you parts at 10% below MSRP"

That and the people asking for threads to be locked because they are becoming controversial and off the initial topic (i.e., this thread).
When did Off-Topic jump the shark and become so pussified?

People just get so offended, and they do it so quickly... dunno about the a4 to stay on topic...
I have my modified TL up in salem oregon, which is the meth capital of the united states, and also is a state capitol. so we have lots of government workers, the state jails, as well as the halfway houses, all within 10 miles of eachother. its run down, there are car thefts every week at my school. but listen, if you have a nice car, people arent going to steal it, they may key it or try to jack your stereo. but its high profile to jack a nice tsx or tl in areas such as salem, just puta window tint on here, and you should be fine. If u want it in the snow, some steels and thats it. everyone is being pretty pussy about it, I have had the car for awhile up there, and nobody has even fucked with it at all. maybe im just scary

I hate when peope ignore statistics of thousands of other cars because their car has lasted a little bit longer, like it speaks for the entire brand
