NEED HELP ASAP On Buying RSX Demo

I know this isn't a CL related thing, but trying to help my cousin who's trying to join the Acura community.

Question folks,

My cousin is in the process now of buying a 2003 RSX (non Type S) w/ leather. It's got 11,000 miles and is certified used Acura. However, the sales guy told her it was a demo. I think the warranty they offer was 5 year 62,000 miles (odd number, huh?)

What is a fair price?

Not sure if a demo is a good idea depending on whether demo means loaner or test drive vehicle, or manager's car.

Invoice on a new 2003 RSX w/ leather is something like $20,500.

Quick, need help ASAP

What are they asking ? I'd offer $17,500..

Demo is a 50-50 shot... It's either beat on or not..

With 62k warranty on paper, negotiate 17k for it. after 5 years you can always try and sell it.

DEMO = STAY AWAY

When the RSX first came out my dealer had a demo car to use for test drives. The salesman basicly said to beat on it and see what it will do.

ANY car that is "certified" should have a 100K mile warranty. First talk them down on the price and then get the 100K mile warranty thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Will he really like a non S?

My cousin basically walked away for now....since they couldn't do the credit check right away. The offer was $17,500 and they wouldn't budge on the warranty (100,000 mile powertrain warranty and a 5 year/62,000 mile warranty on the car, which 1 year and 11,000 miles have been used). They wouldn't add the 100,000 bumper to bumper and they wouldn't throw in any free services (like the 15,000 mile service and one or two oil changes). I also told her to get free wheel locks and stuff.

Basically, she's on a budget and going for a Type S or a decent 1 year old used car would make her go over.
