NEED A Beater...91 Accord or 91 Camry...
Can you guys help me decide and inform me of any issues or problems associated w/the respective models....
1. 91 Accord LX wagon...105K miles....$1,500
Clean car but tranny bangs a bit into gear when cold it appears....
2. 91 Camry Sedan...153K miles....$750
Clean car, chip in windshield...minor rust, paint a little faded in some spots
On Both cars, the dash vibrates quite a bit at first but i believe thats due to the engine not properly warming up.....carfaxes are good on both....and bot are A/T
I need a car for a very close friend that can be driven safely 4 the next 2 years w/just regular maintenance...i need 2 warap this up by Sunday
please advise

I have a 1988 Toyota Camry that my mom bought SALVAGED in ~1994 and it's given us no problems till this day. Sure it's falling apart, but mechanically it's sound. Never ever broken down on me, never refuses to start, just solid reliable. Gas + oil = good to go!

My first ever car was a 91 Volkswagen Passat and that thing was a good choice. i paid a little less than $2000 for it and it ran perfectly. actually it had more features than i have right now (heated seats, sport mode shifting, 8 speakers). maybe you might consider that too although i really wouldn't call it a beater...

i hear ya, but the camry is 1/2 the price of the accord...

Whichever car you get, make sure the engine's timing belt has either been changed recently or add that to your budget.
I bought a '91 Camry V-6 new for my dad; he gave car back to me when he quit driving and I sold it to a brother-in-law with about 70K on it after I got the TL. The Camry was bulletproof transportation with no issues (but boring as a refrigerator without an ice dispenser, and suspension had way too much compliance). The auto transmission/engine combo was almost as smooth as the TL.

i have a 90 accord its at 230xxx now. i put about 50000 miles on it, still solid, driver side window doesnt work. i think the same year camry is smaller and looks more in the 80s while the accords styling is more 90s

I would happily take a 91 Accord Wagon (pimp) or Camry. They are both tanks when well maintained.

id take the camry because its only 750$....although perrsonally i like the accord cb7 bodystyle better
ive had both, my 91 accord was more peppier, solid, loved the interior. the 93 camry v6 was smooth as hell and the ride was smoother, my friend had a 4banger 91 and it was decently smooth, but it had suspension problems to all hell, he needed to replace almost all the struts
