This thread is funny. It really should have only been about 4 posts long though! We all, well most of us, speed, you just have to keep it slower for work.

OP-Company car is tracked with GPS like in the Fast and the Furious
Post 2- Wow that sucks, but what can you do?
Post 3- OP-Yeah tell me about it, can't go speeding around like we all do.

So true! I may have gone a little overboard with the thread title, but the remarks and comments should have been basically what you suggested. Regardless, I still cant believe some of the responses. Yeas I got a little carried away, but it blows my mind that there are so many a$$holes with nothing better to do than type nonsense!

All I am going to say is that you would hate to work for me. We have GPS tracking with a camera that records the inside and outside of the vehicle. I am just trying to keep honest people honest.

While I appreciate your response, I can't help but wonder why the cameras are needed? Sounds like people are not so honest.

It also reinforces whatever their opinion is regarding an accident. The camera PROTECTS honest people.

And no, people on here are not being assholes. We're responding to your assertion that you should be allowed to speed in a vehicle that is not yours to your heart's content. Your employer reserves the right to limit that since it is THEIR vehicle.

So feel free to complain but do not expect sympathy among us.

I heard quite a few car rental places like Enterprises and Hertz have GPS tracking for their cars so they know if you go outside of the designated zone. I'm okay with that but if they start imposing speed limits, I would be pissed because I'm paying (rental fee, gas, insurance) to drive it....unlike the OP!

Thanks Ken. I never considered the accident factor and the fact that people would lie about it.
In response to your second statement, whether you think so or not, there were a lot of responses that were unnecessary.
If you read propperly you'd have seen that I acknowledged the fact that it's a company vehicle and that I would adhere to their rules. The funny thing is today I spoke to 5 other reps from different states and different tenures. When I asked if the 75mph cap was an issue everyone even the senior reps said it is an issue because it is SO easy to follow traffic and exceed 75 without even realizing it which was my main point.
The good news is, management is pretty lenient about it as long as you don't abuse it. The company realizes that it is easy to keep pace with traffic and forget to keep at 75.

So with that being said, I hope that you and any other,(for lack of a better word) "hater" can be mature enough to recognize that I realize to some it may be a silly rant, but in reality it is also somewhat of an issue.

You like to repeat yourself quite a bit. Do you feel like you don't get heard?
Never said I was "Entitled!!! Entitled!!! Entitled!!!!!" to anything. Take the time to read the thread before you post your garbage.

True you never said you were entitled, but the bulk of what you say speaks volumes of on your entitlement attitude.

Really doc? I don't think anyone with half a brain would say I feel entitled for having to beware of a number. Just annoyed. There's a difference there.
But what can I expect coming from a guy with over 55,000 posts and 5 thanks. You must have a lot of useful and constructive things to say with that ratio.

Considering the "Thanks" started about 6 months ago, 100+ is pretty impressive. Find ten other people with more than 100. I'll wait.

What IS unimpressive is his seeming lack of acknowledgment of useful posts.

For those who are too lazy to read through the whole thread.

Cliffs:
- OP expresses his outrage because the company he works for is monitoring his speed in a car they GAVE him for FREE.
- 95% of Azine tells him to stop crying and thank God that he works in a company that gave him a car for FREE among many other things.
- Anyone who posts anything that the OP doesn't want to read, is just posting nonsense and garbage.
- He is now analyzing people's post to thanks ratio.

It helps protect honest people.

Let me give you an example, last year one of my trucks was involved in an accident. My driver was sitting at a red light waiting for the light to change to make a left hand turn. A driver coming the other way came across the middle and plowed straight into my truck. The camera in the truck shows that my driver was doing everything he possibly could to avoid the accident.

That is correct sir and also my intent, but I have to say it was kind of fun to see how fired up people would get over somthing that doesn't interfere in their lives. The name calling, the "gang bangers" bangin each other.:theghey: Yeah, I egged it on, but some people had decent responses so I kept posting longer than was intended.
Anyway it was fun! Take care guys!
