My TL lost it's spot in the garage
Hey everyone, I've not been very active on Azine in the last year or so as I've been looking for a summer toy. This is a car I've lusted for since they fist came out, and I finally found the right one, and figured I'd share. After a seemingly endless search through cars with questionable histories, multiple owners, and cars that obviously were beat on repeatedly, I found mine. It had one owner (66yrs old at the time of my purchase) 27,000 original miles, clean title and clean history, and was in near mint condition.
I boarded a plane in Toronto at about 6:30am on a Friday a few weeks back, flew through Atlanta and ended up in Richmond, Virginia. I was picked up by the seller at the airport and then went to visually inspect the car (this is after I had made an appointemnt by phone the week prior and had the vehicle looked over by a dealership which emailed me the inspection). I literally had to get up close with a light to find even the slightest blemish. The seller and I exchanged money for the title and one set of keys, and then it was back to the airport. I flew through Charlotte, North Carolina and returned home in Toronto just after midnight. It was a long 19 hour day, but 3 days later the car was in my garage - with a battery tender keeping her vital signs up.
It bothers me that my TL can look so good in the summer, and now that it is exposed to the elements 24/7 - is not looking so good. It's all caked in salt and snow and ice but I guess life could be worse.
Cold ass hockey puck Michelins are deadly in this winter weather, but on Super Bowl Sunday the roads were just clean enough to go for a rip...49ers lost, but my day was full of sideways WIN!

Congrats! Viper looks great. I'm always looking at 01-02 GTSs (ABS) but I don't know if I'll ever be able to pull the trigger. Congrats again and drive safe.

Because it's made in the good ol USA there was no Duty - I only had to pay sales tax. Everyone thinks bringing cars over is a huge hassle, but it's really only some extra paperwork.
Let's just say it was a deal that I couldn't pass up
You sir, drive a hard bargain...DEAL!
Actually Tyler, '96 - '02 were considered Gen 2 Vipersbut I figure you mean that you like the original curves...me too.
I agree with you all...the top looks like a sac of crap!! It does keep the rain out though. In any case, I likely will never have it on the car unless I get caught in a rain storm. It will stay tucked away in the trunk along with my front plate
Of course you can!!! Like I said, I waited almost a year from when I decided I was going to get one till I found the right one for me. If you're serious, start looking...just make sure all the real priorities in your life are in line first
