My sister wrecked my TL-S
I left my car at home while I went to school (so I could get the whole parking situation squared away. Everyone who knows about UNC knows that parking isnt exactly at a premium, but you dont really need a car, so its not a big deal). There's plenty of space to park at my dad's house because some of the cars get parked on the basketball court which never gets used anymore. My sister lives there and commutes to William & Mary for grad school. But you know, I didnt really suspect anyone would drive my car, because everyone knows how obsessed with it I am, and there are better cars at the house to drive. Anyway, my older sister who drives a Jetta GLI VR6 decides to drive to richmond one night.
Runs a redlight, some guy in a VW hits the back right of the car. Bends the wheel sideways... Insurance does their thing, but allows us to take it to the shop we trust. Well, we're quoted at 3200, which turns into 4000, and then they call and tell us that my other wheel was 1 degree off and wasnt lining up with the other wheel. They say that its not likely this happened from the accident. But, I get it alligned regularly, never miss a service, and let my mod guy look at it every 2 months or so, and I have absolutely no recollection of EVER curbing this car (at least not in the last 2 years)... Bay Custom wants to take it to a reputable tune shop, at this point, its like whatever. Just make it right (can't back out at this point anyway because of insurance)... $8000 dollars. Are you serious? $8000 dollars. This is utterly ridiculous.. so you think this is bad? You want to hear the bad part.
This happened the first week I got down here (august 25th, i got here on the 18th), and everyone in my family tried to fix it WITHOUT telling me. Their plan was to have the car fixed and ready by this past weekend when I was coming home, and on the day before I was supposed to come, they called me telling me that my sister had gotten into an accident in my car. Can you believe this!? My car gets ruined, and they try to fix it without telling me what happened! Are you serious?! Did they think I wouldn't notice. I'm so flabbergasted.
The car should be ready by the end of this week, i'll be home in a couple weekends to take it to my shop, get my guy to look at it, and tell me how much I can actually trust this sucker. I was looking to get a 335 soon (after I finally got over my attatchment to the car), but I was considering waiting until next year where'd I'd have a better place to park it. Right now, i'm planning to park my TL in durham, and as some of you know, its not exactly the safest place on earth. Its not as bad as the real gutter places where they'll jack your headlights, but its definitely not where I want to park a new 335i. I really hope that I don't get my car back in a state that forces me into a drastic change.
Thanks for listening. Enjoy your TLs guys, and don't ever let them out of your sight. EVER

I wish... My sister's GLI is a stick. My mom's last car is a stick. My dad just stopped driving stick. Hahah, there's no way out of it. The only way to avoid it would be to get an SUV, because everyone in my family is too leadfooted to ever get something they couldnt fly in

THat sucks.
I wouldn't be pissed if one of my family crashed my car, but I would be furious if they tried to keep it from me. The fact that they tried to fix it without telling you is just wrong.

Thats definitely the worst part. I called home one night and asked my sister to go to my car and turn it on and drive it around the block while i was on the phone with the phone out the window so I could hear the exhaust note. And she kept saying that was the dumbest thing she's ever heard... I see why, now

I'm sorry to hear about your car, shit like this always happens to people who care the most about their cars.

But damm boy! you must have put the fear of god in them.
I let my wife drive my car and anyone else (I know) who asks, but they all know that if something happen to it, they'd be in trouble!
Anyways, post some pics when you get it back from the shop.

I don't HAVE pics! I HAVEN'T SEEN my car in 6 and a half WEEKS! But yea, it should be done by this weekend, so I'm sure someone has pictures, and i'll go ahead and obtain a rundown of every cent spent on fixing it. I'll try to have that up by monday.
Oh, and btw, my sister was in atlanta this weekend, so she wasn't there to get that assbeating, but she did leave her car in the driveway, and it took every bit of sense I had to not drive that car into a wall.
