My Mazda Genesis :)
I have a 2010 Mazda 6 S Grand Touring and got the itch for a wheel change. I decided to upgrade my 18's to 19s. I’m not a fan of most aftermarkets, so in looking for OEM 19” wheels that have the same lug pattern (5 x 114.3) and center bore (67.1mm) as the Mazda 6, I found the Hyundai Genesis. So I added a set of 19” Hyundai Genesis Coupe wheels. They’re staggered (19 x 8, 8.5"), but ironically look killer on the FWD 6.
And YES, I know I need to lower the car. Although with my son in his car-seat in the back and my wife and I in the front, I've rubbed in the rear twice on steep driveways. I'm looking more into this.
I took some crappy preliminary pics after a wash this weekend.
Regarding the caps, it's challenging because the Hyundai wheel cap is 60mm, which is wider (and deeper) than the Mazda cap. So I found these which I thought would be cool...

I never have understood why car manufacturers go so conservative with wheel design. Do most people not care?
This is an excellent example of the transformation of a car with the right wheels.
Looks fantastic!

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
Just re-read.
If the rubbing is on the fender well, odds are it will "correct" itself over time.
What you may want to do, is find a couple of the 19x8s and swap the 19x8.5s....
That would knock out the rubbing and possibly net you slightly better handling, depending on if you are staggering tire as well as rim. FWD stagger is not typically recommended but for your application it probably doesn't matter much.

How come you didn't go with the 19's the RX-8 comes with and are dark gun metal which would look better with ur color, and they are 19x8 which rubbing wouldn't be such a huge issue.

CHange the center caps to something lighter otherwise car looks good

that looks really good.
As far as the scraping issue goes, just approach driveways at an angle. It's worth it to have the look of a lowered car and depending on the setup, an improvement in handling as well.

Definitely lower the car after you get the same size tire all around... then just approach steep inclines at an angle... and you should be good!
BTW, I love the look. Wasn't sure where this topic was going after reading the title... but love those wheels on the 6...

Wow, looks much better. Honestly, the 6 should've come with these wheels stock. Compliments the car's design perfectly IMO.

Yes, the Genesis diameter is slightly bigger, but with that offset, there should be room. And honestly, I haven't replicated the rear rub, nor do I see any visual signs in the wheel well or tires. I'm not too concerned about it...but will certainly monitor it over time.
I originally looked for an additional 19x8 set, but the staggered setup just looks so damn good. Yes FWD handling is lessened, but it's not like I'm taking on GT-Rs in my 6 anyway
Thanks everyone for the positive comments

those genesis wheels are actually a pretty popular go to.
The nice part about the Mazda 6 application is that the 6 shares the 67.1mm center bore of Hyundai (Genesis, Sonata, Elantra). The Lexus guys have to use hub rings (60.1mm).
But that's why these wheels are popular because they're slick looking 19" wheels, OEM quality, are 5 x 114.3, 35 offset, and have a larger center bore than Lexus/Toy (60.1mm) and Honda/Acura (64.1mm)...so you can run hub rings, mount and go. No drilling required.
