lol...Ill never forget a drive I went on in Austin, when you see a guy in an Elise holding his shifter up in the air while driving.
Pretty common problem on 'em. At the track I go to in Cresson I'm actually tired of hearing about shift linkage breaks!

I see there's still a little bit of Colin Chapman in the newer cars.... 
You know the old story about early Lotus's....they designed them with strong tube frames, then started removing tubes to get the things light.
Once they removed a tube and the frame broke, they put that tube back in and "all set then!"
All in good fun, the current cars are awesome.
That is a little shocking though.

Actually that is a term that was told to me by my daughters 23 year old boyfriend.
