I don't see anyone bashing the Civic at all.
Just this specific Mugen Civic and the idiocy behind spending that kind of $$ for a tuned suspension and some stickers.

OK, so gangsta may not have been the right term to use, but that's a cool chick move regardless.
Start budgeting for her birthday, new clutch disc, flywheel, and custom car alarm.
Best part about it is that you will get to drive it a whole bunch for the forseeable future!

Just so we're all on the same page in regards to the Mugen Civic, it comes with
MUGEN sports grille
MUGEN side skirts
MUGEN rear diffuser
MUGEN adjustable rear spoiler
MUGEN spherical shift knob
MUGEN 18in. forged alloy rims
MUGEN sport tuned exhaust
MUGEN tuned suspension, with revised spring and damper rates, lowering by 0.6"
MUGEN super awesome stickers and interior placard
So, at the end of the day, you get bodykit, suspension kit, expensive forged wheels and an exhaust for @ $8000. All factory installed, all factory warrantied, with factory fit and finish.
Now if you put similar aftermarket items on a regular Si, it could cost nearly as much, and like most aftermarket parts it wouldn't increase the vehicle's resale value by much....if at all.
The Mugen sedan should hold its value quite well, due to the name of course and the limited edition nature of the vehicle. Civic Si's already have good resale value.
So, its not THAT bad of a deal, its pretty decent once you put it on paper. I think its the sticker shock of a $30,000 civic is what gets folks all hot and bothered.
C'mon friends, there's people out there with WAY more than that in their Civics........

I'm just suprised that the Mugen Si doesn't get anymore HP than the regular SI. I usually don't like appearance packages

Safety Car
The wheels and the suspension are the only things I really like on that car, and you cannot get the parts unless you own the car. For 30k there are cars out there that are better, in almost every way.
As far as the people with more money in their civics, well yeah, those also perform much better than the Mugen. The bang for the buck is just not there with that car.
Now 30k for a Type R that handles like a Type R should with a proper motor (Can't ask for $8k and leave the powertrain untouched) then we're talking.

Good god.
Congrats, but paying $30k for civic wasn't such a smart move. Not to mention, this is going to be her first MT car? good luck.
Btw, she ain't gangsta.

You straight up said "rice out civic". How's mugen civic SI riced out? Man, if you are going to use the term "rice", please use it right.

imho: the Mugen Si for what you are paying to what you get not worth it.
I'd drop a few more grand and get a Evo 10 or a Sti. or if you got some deeper pockets a 335.

FWIW learning to drive a stick in a $30k Civic is not gangsta, it's stupid. Why not get a 5 speed beater or older car and let her learn on that, not in a brand new car. One of my first experiences with a stick was driving a surplus Army jeep and I fudged up and shifted from 2nd directly into reverse and it damn near destroyed the transmission but no one cared because it was an old assed jeep not a brand new $30k vehicle. There is nothing at all gangsta about it

That said, when I see a Mugen, I just think of hotchickswithdouchebags.com

I'm not bashing the Honda Civic at all. I think the Honda Civic is a great car. I think the MUGEN Civic is a waste of money. (apparently, so do you...)
And yeah, I think the Mugen is and it doesn't look like I'm the only one.

I still think mugen isn't close being rice, but everyone has different taste.
I do agree with though.... They are waste of money.

Say what you want but Mugen Si = collector's Item.
The low production numbers almost guaranty's its later popularity.
Would i pay it no, but for what you get, and considering what your average tuner spends on the very same mods the price is not that excessive.
