My daily (Miata built thread, Mimi) and the reason why I havent been around!

So one reason i havent been around acurazine as much as i did before was because of this little rascal that was suppose to be a cheap daily beater ending up becoming a money pit for me -_-

I originally picked up this miata since i wanted a second car that would SAVE ME GAS!!!!!!!!! My tl was avarging 14-17mpg thus i picked up the miata. I picked this up about a year ago bone stock with the hardtop and eventually it stood like that for about 6month till the point i was about to sell it...

then the first mod came on April......
Dropped on some cheap coilover that alot of people in the miata world called RICELAND or their real name Raceland..i decided why not get it for 341 dollars shipped for a full set of coilovers (without damping though) and drove slammed for about 5 days. Then after that the mod bug bit me slowly but hard. The TL was suppose to get its ATLP quad but that fund ended up going into the miata for a FULL MAKE over.

I decided i wanted some wheels that was wide and cheap......ended up going with some brand new diamond racing (known as STEELIE to many people ) in a Raw steel finished and chrome lipped. Brand new for four at the price of $650 and $350 for a set of four brand new tires

After that i decided that it needed some paint and i rarely see Purple wheels so why not?

and in order to fit these new wide wheels i needed a major pull for the rear along with a minor pull for the front (Stock was 14x5.5, now 15x10 for the back and 15x8 for the front). This was the end result

About a month later i got tired of the old interior and how much better the tl interior looked i decided to do a change in the interior. I ended up picking some Replica Bride stradia low max seats since the real cost more then the car for a pair so that was out of the question. A nrg quick release setup with an nrg steering wheel, A bigger mirror to see everything behind me, and a new headunit with the same navi software that our tl has (Pioneer navi headunit)

After the interior was finished i decided to get a set of OEM rear short mudflaps and a front lip for the miata.

It stayed like that for about a month then i decided that this car was going to be a memory of my first car which had alot of sticker (this is for fun and the stickers are all phrases not company except for mine's and my friend Jordan Mo photography)

And to be nice to the driver behind me when im avoiding the pot holes/speedbumps and those randomly raised manholes.

Along the line of that one month period i did pick up a new Sparco Steering wheel to replace the Nrg one that i had. I just wanted something smaller for a go kart feel to it.

Here is also a picture of the wheels along with the pull and the 24k gold lugnuts

Then a random rolling shot from the front

Then around last month i told myself if i ever found this rear lip for sale ill pick it up since i had a front lip. I had to end up hacking my mudflap to fit these and i determined the mudflap will get hacked instead of the lip.

Then painted and installed as my buddy was around took some picture of it

As of today, i have installed a new catback exhaust on it and a rollbar for it. Im waiting to have some free time to also install and paint my rear spoiler that took me forever to find.

But then after those two items are installed i believe my miata is finished and maybe redo my rollbar and get it powdercoated/painted then i can maybe start concentrating on the TL agian. So that's why i haven't been around acurazine lately=[ i apologized guys!!!!!!!

Ill also try to get some recent pictures of it soon.

Holy crap! I love it!

Not sure how I feel about the rear lip though. I like it, but the right side looks odd with the exhaust cut out AND the mud flap.

I love and hate the wheels at the same time...I hate that they're too wide and the tires are stretched, but I love the chrome/purple with the white.

I would have gotten some wheel arches/fender flares instead of pulling the fenders at least. That way you could run wider tires on your wider wheel so it actually makes sense.

Everything already commented in this thread is true. At least, I agree with those sentiments.

Couldn't have said it better myself. When the first pic showed them painted purple, I wasn't sure... but it looks great. Then, unfortunately, the tires/stance ruins it. But overall, I can dig it

I LOVE IT!

I really don't care about the look as long as it drives like a legit Miata!

i have a newfound appreciation for Miatas since I learned that my boss professional races the Miata cups on the side... he just sold his racecar, but after doing some research, i would not mind one of these for a DD...

Alright since everyone didnt like my rear lip, i decided to please all of you guys and got rid of the rear lip

Acturally i broke my rear lip....benefit of being too low
I wanted something in the rear as it looked plan without a lip and just a set of mudflap and what is better to put on a miata then a lotus part? the miata was based of the lotus elan back in the days so times to bring it to the present and take a part from the lotus elise/extige......DIFFUSER!

heres some work in progress i did over the weekend.
Saturday i spend 5 hours taking parts off and cutting the diffuser for my exhaust to make it fit.
Sunday i spend 3 hours mounting and got it done.

Next week ill get it painted...(need help, Theme of car is purple/white/gold. so i have these color to choose from, Silver, Purple, Gold, Black, or white...vote for me please =]).
Along with that ill get in my new set of mudflaps tomorrow to paint it and make a set of side diffuser rod to hold the end of the diffuser.

Oh and my new vanity plate (i always used this phrase when i meet a girl and yes i know madam mean old =[)

And enough talking heres some pic my buddy took while i was working on it.

The OCD in me noticed that it's crooked.

Looks out of place, IMO. But better than the rear lip.
