My Baby, My Baby!!!
Warning, gonna sound like a nut...
Here's the proof, my best friend will hopefully live again...
Value $7,7XX
Damage $6,4XX
Hopefully he will be a salvage rebuild, i wanna drive it again... I mean, I love my new RDX, but this ones got the history, and connection with me emotionally, such as that clump sound when I close the door, or the slight hiss when the a/c kicks on... You know what I mean... Check it out... Means the world to me!!! Still runs and drives... Lastly, I hope the new owner finds my note... http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/18216746
This may be a lot to ask, but please pray for his fate!!!!

Wow. His best friend is a 10 year old Kia Sportage
Sad to see her (or him?) dead.

This was the last thing my 87 year old great-grandmother bought before she past away... So I've had it for just over 7 years... If you've driven one, you'll know what I mean, heavy steering, good firm brakes, no body roll, and the ride quality it just right... I guess it's silly do do this, but I respect a autos I've driven or have been around for years and years... It's just my inanimate entourage, ya dig?

Is your name Short Round? Were you driving with wood blocks tied to your feet? No time for love, Dr. Jones.

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again. Saved the day 3/15/15, Our Carmy spun a bearing, on the way to my sisters wedding lol... Very trustworthy...

Can't blame the guy for having an emotional attachment for his 1st vehicle. I know that feeling, of getting laid for the first time in my 1st vehicle. It was unforgettable. I'm sure, OP and his boyfriend agree.

To all who have posted and viewed, the bid was at $1,000, at 10:30 a.m.... I think this will definitely be a fixer-upper... I will be doing my best to track it through this resilient process... I have seen many minorly damaged vehicles totaled by insuance company's for financial reasons... I even know someone who buys wrecked automobiles and repairs them roadworthy... Just think, two years ago, it would have been worth more, it would have been repaired... Think about it this way, I've seen 2012, 2013, and 2014 vehicles with way more damage, fixed... If someone bought it for $1,500, had a shop, so labor is free, parts are cheaper, etc..., well, that $6,400 repair est., would be about $2,500, or so... So,
$1,500 + $2,500 = $4,000...
Now it isn't quite worth $7,800 like it was, but still, between $6,000 and $,6,800, so at least $2,000 profit... Well, maybe $1,500 if the markets down... You see... It's not over... Not like this... If you are wondering why I did this, it's like a salute... Like a respect thing... It would be just wrong not to... Now that you saw how I got started, now you'll see what I have now, and in a few weeks I'll have some good photos of the new RDX to share with you all... Thank you for viewing, I hope you all the best... Closed!!!

It's a percentage...
if vehicle is worth $10K then insurance will total if repairs exceed 80% of vehicle worth. It's likely less than that, the percentage, I'm just guessing...if that had been an RDX Elite, it would have been fixed no matter what.

No, I don't know him... I also don't know anyone else who has an Acura...
I liked summarized version of my last post, hit the nail on the head... This is what I had before the RDX, and still love it, it just feels better than the competitors of its time, I haven't been in an 07 CR-V, so, can't speed for that, but the Sportage isn't tipsy...

That's what I'm saying, let a body shop guy buy it, fix it, and flip it for a pay day... If I can't have it, at least it's still out there, and the thought of that much more comforting, ya know, die another day, sort to speak... The RDX has 96,000 more miles than the Kia has, but I wanted an RDX, and I found one at just the right time for under $8,500, so I'm happy...

The love I have is different, it's an emotional thing, very strong and nostalgic... We also have a 2001 Camry, sadly, some bad advice to repair an oil leak and got way too technical as to where it lead to a rod knock, I still want to fix it... Anyway, we had a 2016 rental Camry, drives nicely, by the way, but I really lost it one night... I mean, Steel Magnolias, okay... Anyway, it's more in the personality they all have, I, in general, hate vehicles until they get some character, until I've seen them, chean, dirty, modded, wrecked, etc, they just don't have much character, and soul... Well, it was when I truly realized I may not drive it again, I got very upset, and when I got home, I looked at the 2016 rental, and was like, talk to me, give me something to think about, then, I glanced at the 2001 in front of it, poor things been laid up a just over year now, well, I lost it again... I do love the RDX, but the attachment isn't there yet... My god, like three weeks before the wreck, I had a nightmare about this happening, literary... My vehicle is like a part of my identity... It's what I get recognized for... I've always looked up all sorts of thing to do to it... I mean, somedays, I wouldn't go two minutes without referencing to "the Kia"... This is a total respect thing... Even before being interested in vehicles, I've been my whole life, and could name almost all makes and models at age 4, but I never knew much... I was always protective over the rides... Yes, I was 14, and between my mother and older sister, by 10 years, I didn't want it valeted, seriously... When it needed two oxygen sensors in January 2013, we rode past the shop everyday, same thing with the Camry and its sunroof drain lines leaking... I hate not knowing... Too much blood, sweat, and tears for that... Battery dead...
