You need specific AN wrenches to install. I'll wait to redo them until I can either borrow a set or buy a set of my own. I can't have scratches in my engine bay

Anxiously awaiting SPRING. Throw back to fall last year. This winter needs to END now. I'll be installing Kooks LTH's, Quad H pipes/ultra hi flow cats, Side pipes. Can't wait. If it was loud before, just wait.

Side pipes?! Side exit before the rear axle?

And I'm with you on winter being over.

Hah! Thanks guys! Yeah they're side pipes but they're really under the car. It's essentially the same concept as the Boss 302 mustangs, except they're made by Kooks.

Marilyn's coming out party for Spring 2016. First time out (officially) this year, after a long week of polishing, detailing, and pampering. Polished via Flex and Menzerna polishes, then sealed with CG Black Light then Wolfgang DG Sealant 3.0.

Found my local Ford dealership empty (obviously), so I took a few shots there along with a local empty parking ramp. It's a BMW/Ford dealership (weird I know)... My faves:

======================================

Thank you FORD!!! :hail:

(I love this shot below - came out good. I took it with an F-stop of 14... you can see how far the sign was behind it, in the other pic below.)

======================================

Paint perfection - despite being almost 5 years old.

======================================

The Queen and her bodyguards. :devil:

UPDATE: 5/4/16

Yep, it was a long time coming. But it's about time I updated this thread!

Well... I did the unthinkable today. :devil::metal: After a year or so of planning/saving, I went ahead and literally just ordered my Kooks parts [LTH's, Quad hiflow green cat/H pipe, side pipes]. Of course I did this all with the wifey's (i.e. the boss) blessing.

It's my final "big" mod - sans replacing stock internals or a new motor. Marilyn is finally complete, bolt-on wise.

Parts come in 10-15 days, so hopefully by end of the month she will be all installed.

Will keep this thread juicy with the install/post install thoughts.

==============================

UPDATE 5/12/16

Well... I'm reduced to a 7 year old once again - eager with anticipation. I'll be frequenting the UPS site because all my new exhaust parts are on their way!!! Kooks really stepped it up with basically a 1 week turn around time.

I also am in contact with my installer and it will either be Monday or Wednesday next week (weather permitting).

Enjoyed my Friday immensely - gotta smile when your UPS guy arrives shortly after you do from work. :metal:

The overall packaging was very well done. They took care to ensure that no metal parts were in contact. I enjoyed the wrapping of the side pipes The welds were superb. That long tube header medusa head was a work of art. I'd put the quality of Kooks alongside Corsa. Excellent. I can't wait to get these babies on - Monday. More pics and vids to come.

Been too busy all year but finally found some time. First set of pics since the Kooks install. She's wearing Victoria Red Concours. Lighting was not ideal, so forgive me. It was cloudy most of the day. I can't believe she's almost 5 years old. :banghead:

Paint is gorgeous as always but I'm confused, all the pipes function now? Forgive my ignorance but is there a benefit of the H pipe and 4 exhausts? I mean, I get you want unrestricted exits but I've never seen this type of setup and if I was driving down the road and saw it, I would think, is he going to delete the rear exhaust.

Also, can't wait to see this on the 3G TL

Thanks so much guys! Appreciate it. As to the question of the 1/4 mile time, other stangs with similar setups are at mid to upper 10s. The difference is a good driver, which I'm not. 0-60 is around mid to upper 3's but again with good drivers. Not me.

Well guys... I made the following changes yesterday. Corsa ===> MagnaFlow RTR Streets

Why?

Corsa = more Euro/exotic/high rpm sounding, with more rasp at upper echelons of rev range.

Magnaflow = more American muscle sounding, depth, low, rumble, natural sounding, no "sharpness" at upper rpm range.

I also love the black ceramic coating and adjustable tips.

So what do you guys think, compared to my Corsas? Vids for Corsas are in previous page/pages I believe.

I tucked her away for the season yesterday. 'twas a sad day

Things done this year:

- Kooks headers, green cats, and side exhaust
- RTR Magnaflow exhaust (buh-bye Corsas)
- Redid XPel protective film on front
- 5% Tint all around

I activated her on March 11th of this year, and deactivated her on November 6th, today.

Here's a quick video I made to summarize the year. Watch it in 1080P!!!
