The car driver is the bigger d-bag-- what he did looked like an intentional assault w/deadly weapon (swerving the car over the double-yellow into the passing motorcycle).
The motorcycle shouldn't have been passing over the double-yellow, but that doesn't excuse the car driver's swerving at it.

Car driver. End of story.
Just because the other guy is being an idiot or breaking the law doesn't justify what that asshole did.

Two wrongs don't make a right. "I don't care" is how you go to jail. Dumbass...

Both need to be charged. The cyclist started it by passing in a no pass zone. The driver is a bigger ass for reacting on purpose like that. Jail time for both because the actions of both led to the cyclist's passenger's injuries.

Car driver but both sucked.
I see bikes split lanes every morning (illegal in Florida, at least when I had a bike) and the other day I almost clipped one as I was making a legal change; dude was going a good 20 mph over traffic and while I checked, twice luckily, he was really hard to see and unexpected. I was wondering if I would have been charged, if I hit him and he died or just got injured. Curious to see the out come here.

I think this would not have happened had the motorcycle driver followed the law and not passed on double yellow lines.
It's inexcusable what the car driver did, but in sequence, if motorcycle driver does not pass on double yellow, car driver does not swerve.

It's like if someone is jaywalking and you purposely swerve and clip them with your car b/c they shouldn't be crossing there. Sorry, that's not legal and is borderline attempted murder...

This ain't the wild west. Let the cops handle such matters. Yes, the motorcycle guy was doing something illegal, but what the car driver did is assault with a deadly weapon assuming the girl doesn't die in the ICU. A good lawyer could probably argue intent to kill, among other things, depending on the circumstances of the exchange afterwards. This case is in the bag.

Motorcyclist should be cited for passing in a no passing.
Geezer cager should be charged with 2x attempted manslaughter. To start.
Second bikerbro showed exemplary restraing from using his helmet to turn geezer cager into a fine red mist.

Big difference between moving violation and attempted murder.

For sure props to #2 for keeping his cool...
If i were biker #1 I would happily pay up and pay the fine if it meant geezer went to jail for attempted manslaughter. Pain and suffering and all that crap would more than pick up the tab for the moving violation

And that's why the old vigilante dude should rot in a cell somewhere.
On occasion, the smarter move on 2 wheels is to do something illegal to stay alive. There are times when it's worth breaking the law to get away from a hazardous situation. One such is when dealing with these sorts of "vigilantes" who take it upon themselves to act out against motorcycles.
Maybe that wasn't the predicating case in this instance, but still. Bike wasn't in the right, but the ol' man was so far outside of right it isn't even in the same universe.
See a bike about to pass you over the double yellow? Call the police and report them. Don't try to kill them.
I probably would not have been as restrained as those bikers were when "talking" with that guy.

They should be more aware that there are dipshits on the road everywhere. So many people on the road who feel like it's their job to parent / police others on the road. Whether it's intentionally blocking traffic to trap speeders or not allowing someone to pass. Moreso with rednecks factor (logic doesn't apply).. Even we have such a dumbfuck just a few posts above. Ride / drive safe. Even if someone is being reckless, don't make it worst.

Exactly. I cannot stand these do-gooders who believe it is their province to act like they are an extension of the police (though no cop would hopefully ever do this either). You know the ones: flashing their lights at you when you pass them; driving 65 in the passing lane saying "I'm doing the speed limit!" and on. Nothing justifies the car operator's actions, nothing.

The driver is a bigger d-bag, he deliberately tried to cause harm to the motorcyclists. Although passing on a double yellow is a no no, it does not entitle anyone to cause them to crash. Fortunately in 30 years of riding, I've never come across any d-bag like this guy. I've had a few people pull out in front of me by mistake but not deliberately. Hope the lady rider gets OK with her arm and injuries and the driver is charged with vehicular assault.

Motorcyclist should get a ticket for that attempted passing.
Driver should be prosecuted for that attempted murder.

I have done dumb stuff like this before on a bike and while it is dangerous for me, the probability of someone else other than me getting hurt is very low. What the car driver did could have killed 2 other people, hes the bigger d bag here

Yeah, that's an appropriate course of action.

The car driver is the far bigger d bag obviously.
But this also is a warning to not just bikers but vehicle operators everyhwere to abide by the law as much as possible because you never know what kind of psychopath murderers you will provoke.encounter on the road.

Man arrested in Granbury motorcycle wreck after Hood County DA investigates | The Star-Telegram
A 68-year-old driver involved in a weekend motorcycle wreck that left a woman in critical condition was arrested Monday night, Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said.
William Crum faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony, for his involvement in the motorcycle wreck, Rob Christian, Hood County district attorney, told the Star-Telegram on Monday night.
Crum’s bail was set Tuesday morning at $75,000 for each charge, Deeds said.

Crusty got charged with 2 counts vehicular assault. $150k bond if I remember correctly.
I really think it should have been attempted manslaughter. Not sure how the court system works but it'd be interesting see if more or more severe charges are brought in the future.
Oh, and cycle dude also got cited for no license (or endorsement, don't recall). No surprise there, IMO... But still apples and hand grenades differences in the actions.
