Motor Vehicle Tax / Fee

Holy Hell. For one car, almost $400 for a year?

Is this normal for other states? I have lived in both Iowa and South Dakota and both of them were around $20 / year.

My 03 CLS was $305.00 for 2005 in Taxachusetts... You should have seen the bill when it was new

My 79 vw bus is $62.50 (valued at about $5000 by the state, but it's replacement value is probably more towards $7-8K).

well OH is like this when you purchase the car or truck you pay the sales tax of 7.5%. so lets say you buy a 30 grand car. when you got to get the plates for it you have to pay 2250 bucks upfront. then your title fee like 10 bucks and the little sticker like 25 bucks a year. Once your done paying the tax your done other than registration and sticker each year which is 35-40 bucks a year.
