FWIW and your enjoyment. Not sure about the validity of the study, but the point is there.

Frankly I'm not surprised. I'm personally at the point where I'm in my last Acura, this after owning 3 Acuras (unless there is a new non vaporware model I'm not aware about) .

^ You're a better man than me. After owning 2 Acura's I jumped ship. That was in 2005. They just didn't have anything I wanted (still don't)... so we've been in mostly German brands since then...

The title on that survey should be "least satisfied" rather than "hated."

It's pretty bad when customers within the past three years show that little satisfaction with their choices.

So it's not just those of us who complain about the "beak," inflated size and vanilla leanings of the prior-gen sedans.

Sadly besides my 3G and a used NSX in the future there's nothing new I'm getting. They need to get some more power under the hood. Not some insane numbers but something competitive at least. Freaking ridiculous what they've done to the brand. It was positioned as a luxury car company that built reliable sporty machines. Now its um machines of some sort.

I absolutely love what dodge is doing. No holding back. Just creating some crazy cars and upping the ante for all manufacturers. Just the way it should be! After the hellcat charger or challenger its going to be very interesting to see how affordable big horsepower is getting for someone who doesn't want to get dirty and tune.

The gap between Honda and Acura seems to be tightening more and more each model year, while other Japanese manufacturers are doing the opposite. Not only do the new Acura models lack any excitement whatsoever, but why pay the premium when a fully loaded Accord isn't that far off??

I love my 3G, but i want more in my next vehicle. Acura will not be able to satisfy my needs unfortunately.

Just saw your thread on your new TLX. Here's what I'll say - the TLX is orders of magnitude better than the 4G. But, what they really needed was a "knock-your-socks-off" entry into the sport sedan market. I'm not sure the TLX is that car.

To add to that, I think we're beating the horse, not because we hate it. We beat it because we want it to live again. Especially those of us that owned Acuras before.

I loved my 3G...it was a great car in terms of looks, performance, and reliability. And in 2004, it was quite competitive in its segment. I haven't been a fan of much from Acura since. I do appreciate their vehicles for what they are, but they aren't what I want.

Oh, and I must be missing something...I'm extremely satisfied with my Dodge .

There are 9 points in that study between the most and least hated car. I would hardly call that a huge gap.

It is more a testament to the fact that most cars are just fine, reasonably well engineered, and satisfying to most.

At the end of the day, buy what you like. I did. Acura simply doesn't have much I want right now, so I haven't owned one in almost six years now. I have three (old) Hondas in the fleet right now, though.

The last hint that we got something special from Acura was the 2001 CL-S, after that, there was nothing outside of the 3rd Gen TL that was even remotely fun to drive....

I've had my CL for 6 years now and I really want my next car to be a new Acura, but if something catastrophic were to happen and I had to get another car tomorrow, I'd absolutely look elsewhere

With all the BRZs and FR-Ss on the road you'd think that Acura would at least consider a new Integra or something... however knowing them I'm sure they're more interested in building a successor to the ZDX.

Jumped ship after 1 Acura and it doesn't look like I'll be going back. Acura needs its own "SRT" line. Cadillac has the "V series", BMW has the "M", even Lexus has the "F" line. All they have given their customers was the Type S TL which offered a 3.5L opposed to the 3.2L. Its like they don't understand that theres a large group of the market that just want more power.

its so weird that they dont know the 90's were filled with Honda tuner wars.
we're still the same kids, just grown up a little.

we want the same fucking things, Honda!!!!
we want an absolute awesome import tuner!!!

Type-R or type-S c'mon just give us a powerful car with lots of go fast goodies!

After owning an Acura which I really loved, I switched to Ford as it offered something Acura didn't have - a turbocharged engine mated with a nice six-speed manual, also with a practical hatchback. Now I really know what torque feels like. And it looks good.

At this point, I'd buy another Ford again for sure. RS, Mustang, Fusion, even Escape, Edge, Explorer, F-150, and so on.

Acura? Not so much. My beloved TSX is gone and Acura won't offer the TLX in manual, yet.

Things need to change, big time.

I saw a very clean 2003 TL-S this morning. Reminded me of when the CL-S and TL-S were in many ways market leaders at the time. I really wanted a CL-S at the time.

Eleven years later and Acura doesn't make cars for me anymore. Really too bad. Though I will say that generally, the Japanese don't make cars for me anymore.

Now, someone needs to post this in the TLX forum to watch the koolaid drinkers come to Acuras defense and what excuses they come up with to defend the brand

Everyone saw this compromise TLX ahead of time so no surprise. What's surprising is it appears they just massaged the ILX with a few changes and here we are without any effort it seems - just sad. I do like the 4th gen TL but still feel happy I picked up a 3rd gen TL while the getting was good. Even worse is Acura knows what they need to do to shift the lux gap towards their favor but aren't willing to invest in doing so.

I like the TLX. It's got potential. Imagine it with a 6MT and a J37. Or a 2.4 turbo and a 6 MT..

I like that they are trying to push the envelope with the RLX sport hybrid.....if it's not vaporware.

I wish Acura made enthusiast cars.....like they used to.

Earth Dreams J37

It's so much lighter than the 4G TL. The TLX isn't really heavyweight for a midsized sedan.
