New Sonatas look pretty nice on the outside. Still not sold on the front, but I like the rear.
The modded ones look great. I dropped my TSX temporarily this weekend with all my trips to Lowes....she didn't like all the bags of topsoil, mulch, and paver stones. LOL.

Great looking cars. They just pulled one of the genesis from the middle of downtown shopping to put a sonata in. I literally walked my dog around it twice to check it out. Nice work Hyundai

As for the turbo, I haven't had any seat time yet but according to the test drivers, it hauls. Imagine stiffer and sportier suspension tuning on the SE with a turbo engine and paddle shifters plus any modifications. Mmm, that would be delicious.

Hyundai is really doing well in the automotive market. Those modded Sonata's look decent (a few) and the Genesis's are hot. In a recent Motor Trend magazine I got, the Genesis 3.8 beat all of the American "Muscle" cars. Besides how can you lose when Ford is in the picture?

I like the modded Sonatas not sure about the no emblem grille though.
Not sure about the upcoming Elantra. The headlights and taillights look huge, but even then its an improvement over the current one

If I was in the market for a sedan, I would definitely check out the Sonata and Genesis long before ever hitting Honda or Acura. I think they look smart, current, and stylish, have great value and features, amazing pricing....I just don't know how they feel or drive yet.

I've never driven these new Sonatas, but I did drive couple gen coupes... I loved it.

Yep, can't build 'em fast enough. This month's production target is on track to shatter the record by a significant margin, but it probably still won't be able to meet the demand or fill the inventory which is at half of what it should be at. Good problem to have.

If Acura could just take a page from Hyundai's playbook and copy a styling element from everyone else's successful designs, they could have a winner. Really though, the Sonatas look great, but man did they bite a couple of styling elements from other manufacturers HARD and BLATANTLY!!!
Guess which elements came from which manufacturer:

Also, Hyundai has used the "reclining guy" control on their KDM models for quite a while (not sure if it was before Volvo).
Anyway, aside from white, the Sonata looks best in darker colors (black, dark blue) while the new Optima looks best in lighter colors (silver) w/ tinted windows.

imo hyundai did a great job of building these cars and building them cheap....but thats the point CHEAP.....
my friend wanted to get a new car and we went to check out the 2011 sonata....looks good....drives good....but the upholstery is cheap...the leather didnt really feel like leather.....
so they are good for entry level 20K-ish but i wudnt get the same if it was priced ~30Kish.......

My gut tells me she'll end up in another Audi, but it goes to show you how far Hyundai has come when the Genesis made the short list with the A6, GS350, and E500/E550.

What's your point?
And I've sat in one as well, and I thought it felt plenty luxurious for its price. Maybe your standard is higher than mine? lol

I don't know the leather was just alright compare to my 3G TL's.
I still think for its price, it's an outstanding car in its segment.

exactly my point....leather is good in its segment....so is the value for ur $$$....but instead of spending ~25K for a Sonata, I would look into the Accord's/Camry's/ for a little more $$$

The interior of the Camry is among the bottom tier in its segment (even Toyota fans admit as much).

^^^ i have sat in only 1 camry and only 1 time....that also in the rear seat....the driver was a 6 feet 4" guy and yet I had loads of leg room back there....i can almost say double of what my TL offers (dont hate me....i love my TL).....the leather was decent enough to be called leather....
i just detested the leather on the sonata....gensis and equos have wayyyy better leather than the sonata !!!
i think the civic offers better leather than the sonata
anyway sorry i took the thread in a different direction....the modded sonatas do look hawt.....and i think "jjashaa" has a killer genesis coupe....was browsing some of his car pix and absolutely loved them !!!

I'm guessing that MPG figure was on the V6 model? Either way, very good to know. The Genesis sedan is on our short list for my wife's Audi replacement.
