What does it have under the hood so a civic can kill a viper?

Better to say it like this: What was the civics' Power-to-weight ratio 6 lb/HP, or less!! CL-S is 3550/260=13.65.

I would love to see a Future CLS in 6 lb/HP

It probably had a gsr swap plus turbo, and some cams and the usual bolt ons. My All motor ITR hybrid was doing low 14's on 17" street tires. So it isn't very hard to get those civics to run fast, but it takes money and tuning.

it is better to stick with the 92-00 civic's, they can take the integra motors from 94+. The 2001 civics are all screwed up and will take a couple of years before someone finds out how to do an engine swap on them. They have a different engine bay layout and everything. I'm guessing they will be able to take the new Rx integra motor or whatever it is called.

That's why it's funny. Just seeing an econo box beating out all those "race bred" sport cars is quite humorous.

Yeah sure. Let's see:

Step 1: Remove everything that makes the CL-S better than a base model Accord (IE - the entire interior and features.)

Step 2: Remove the bare seats (which is about the only thing left.)

Step 3: Strap on massive turbos and give 'em 22 boost.

Step 4: Slicks.

Step 5: Blow the engine trying to beat the Viper.

Btw, that thing BARELY beat that Viper. Probably ran about a 12.1 to the Viper's 12.3 or so.

With enough money you can do just about anything. It would be nice to see if that Civic could corner with the Viper

Still the most impressive vehicle I have seen is Clint's SC300TT.... for a fully loaded luxury coupe to have that type of performance is just amazing.

Not bad....the stock Viper runs a 12.5, or at least, what I saw at the track, and that is with street tires and feathering the launch so as not to spin for days. But then again it comes down to how much $$$ you have.

SAME HERE, TERRIBLE LAUNCH BY THE VIPER, 1 WHOLE CAR RIGHT OUT OF THE CHUTE. THAT WOULD BE A GREAT REMATCH AS THE CIVIC WAS A BLAST.

yep it would be, cause you gotta think the toque of the viper would send the viper w/ the initial lead, then again, the civic probally has great traction w/ FWD and is most likely on cheater slicks since he had no wheel spin at all virtually and did dump the clutch pretty high

I doubt the Viper driver really felt too bad afterwards. I mean, it is still a viper, and it is still a civic. If both cars cruised down 6th or something, who do you think would get more stares? Oh, sure the Civic and all it's import glory. I'm not bashing exactly, but also how long do you think that civic can keep that kind of stuff up? Daily driver? Pump gas? No, I don't think so. It's a neat thing to watch, but let's not fool ourselves folks.....
