Eight-Eight 3 is a Triumph I'm guessing.

You were pretty spot on. 335i and S1000RR were correct. I wouldn't mind owning another GSX-R. Doubt I'd ever purchase an S2000 again. Iron 883 - Harley Davidson.

Negative! Gorgeous bikes, but I don't trust them one bit.

I know nothing of motorcycles...

Why wouldn't you get another S2000?

All good, you got the S1KRR right. Truth be told, I'd waste an S2000's mileage. I drive my cars hard to work, school, gym, etc. They never see a track or a backroad anymore. They're all either geared towards being straight line bruisers or cruisers. I loved my S2000, but I know that's not what it was built for.

Funny you mention that, I'm trying to be realistic with my budget. I don't want to be without a financial safety net this time around. I'm capping my budget at $15k for a car and $7k for a bike. Those are both on the high ends, realistically I'd like to spend less than that. My insurance will likely be as much, if not more than my payment so I want to play it safe.

I've been doing a lot of thinking now and I think I've narrowed my choices down to the following
N54 335i 6MT - Potential to make decent power (500-600whp) but potential for things to break and to distract me from my primary goal (finishing school)
3rd Gen Lexus GS350 - Gorgeous car, always loved these 2006-2011 models. I'm sure with proper maintenance that these cars can hit 200k no problem. This is probably my #1 pick in terms of a car.
Economy car - Accord or civic. The newest/cheapest model I can get for ~$10k. Nothing to say here. Good on gas, very boring, assumed to be very reliable.

Those are my top 3 picks for cars. I'm still considering a bike but I have to be realistic. I like going on road trips and being able to get around regardless of the weather. With a bike, yes I can ride in the rain, but I'd prefer not to so I'd still be somewhat dependent on other people. Not to mention 5 hour road trips on a super sport? And then how would I take clothes and other belongings with me? It seems the car is the most well rounded decision. I'd love a bike, but I find it increasingly harder to justify. Hell, my insurance on a lowly 600c super sport is ~$500/month.

In a perfect world, I'd buy the GS and a bike. In the real world, I want to make a smart, well thought out decision. I don't feel like being a slave to my job anymore. I hate the hospital, hate my co-workers, hate everything about this place from the moment I clock in to the moment I clock out. The last thing I want to do is add another massive load of debt that forces me to continue working here.

I saw that in your thread. I always seem to be a bit late on the great deals. I spend too much debating whether I should spend my money on two wheels or four.

Gonna' go check this out tomorrow morning - https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/5950771527.html

Doesn't seem like a bad deal on paper but I'm nervous about long term reliability. Car's likely gonna see it's fair of abuse and long road trips so I'm doing all the research I can on N54's right now.

if it doesn't work out, oh well. I just don't want a car that I'm nervous to take on a long road trip due to fear of it leaving me stranded.
