Might have to go drive the new G35 6MT sedan...
Before I bought my TL, I had put a deposit on a 2004 G35 sedan 6MT and waited for 6 months for a car. My local Infiniti dealer couldn't find me a car so I got my deposit back and bought the 2004 TL 6MT A-SPEC, which has been exceptional. In fact, I’d say the only way to improve the TL (within reason) is to make it RWD! I was a little worried about the G's seat controls in any event as I heard a lot of G drivers were experiencing leg pain related to the seat control placement on the inside of the seat. I just read that the 2005 G35 sedan 6MT has been bumped 38 Hp to 298 Hp with 360 of torque. I looked at the pictures on the Infiniti web site and it looks like they improved the look of the car, improved the seat control position and padding as well and added real aluminum trim like our TL. It looks like it’s going to be hard to keep up with new G. The good news is that having bought my TL, I’m much less bummed than if I had bought the 2004 G. I may just have to go drive one however. There’s nothing like RWD.

I am not mistaken.
Check for yourself if you don't buy it.

You are right! 05 6mt Sedan will have 298hp. My cousin is actually gonna trade in his 04.

I HATE the G35 grille and headlights on both the coupe and sedan. If it were not for this and the sad interior (yes, even the 2005), I'd be buying a G35 without question. In fact, I like the car so much that I am still debating whether or not I can overlook those flaws.

They actually changed more things on the Sedan than on the Coupe. The sedan has a completely new hood and front bumper as well as painted (instead of black) lower valances.
As for changes to both the Coupe and Sedan: HP boosts, real aluminum trim w/ real wood optional, more leather trim (now on the interior door handles), revised clock placement and better plastics, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, smartkey, etc.
Some may not like the styling, but the G35 is one VERY well-rounded car.

There are plenty of us on the fence about our car purchase. Hell, every day I see a 40+ lady driving a TL, I begin to rethink as well :P
Though I agree there have been far too many of these threads recently...

Horse power is always going to be increased every year, does it mean one is going to waste money keeping up every year. Has anyone notice the EPA on that thing? You're better off buying an SUV IMO.

a better car than the g35 is the CTS. they ae the same size, same performance (excepth the CTS-V) both are rwd. both can be had in a 6speed manual. i drove both and the cts wins hands down. especially in the looks dept

And the G35 vs TL debate is getting old. The mods should sticky a 'G35 vs TL' thread. ( hint-hint )

Just being a little facetious here, but I find it funny when people separate the two so distinctly...

Or do you spend one tankful driving in the city, then the next on the highway.

Then city mileage is easily calculated cause all my commute is in town, usually I average 380 to 400 miles on a tank.
