Micro Windshield Damage
Micro Windshield Damage
My Audi is 4 years old and has what appears to be sand damage on the windshield. (Go Florida!)
Being the picky guy I am, I'm wondering if there is a simple way to polish these out or decrease the appearance of them. They are most noticed when driving in dusk and dawn hours due to direct sunlight.
I don't want to go through the hassle of a new windshield install.
Thanks.

I did some research and it seems there is actual windshield polish and you need a good DA .. but, based on the video, it can take up to 2-3 hours to do it correctly. Incorrectly? You can further ruin the windshield.
Also, heavy pitting probably won't be fully removed but it'll be reduced. Same applies for scratches, too.
IMO, buy a new windshield and save yourself the time.

In Colorado, the issue is in winter they use a grave mixture and no salt on the roads. This leaves windshields getting the "starlight" effect. My Volvo has it all over the place, but I'm not going to replace it until I get a crack. I've already replaced my Subaru windshield. I used Safelite, and used insurance. $500. And my rates didn't go up.
