Mazda Zoom-Zoom Live Driving Event

For all you car nuts, another driving event. I went to the one last year and it was a pretty good event for a half a day (not enough cars to drive for the full day) and I got a year's subscription to Autoweek for free out of it.

DC's is this weekend.

Info and registration at http://www.zoomzoomlive.com

Can someone explain to me what this is all about? They give you a chance to drive their cars on the track?
Why is it when you register to attend they ask you specific questions regarding the car you own?

It's really just a marketing event. You get to drive their cars on autocross style courses so you get a better feel for what the car can do in a controlled environment. I see it as a way to drive the competition.

And as for asking about your car, it's just to see what types of vehicle owners are interested. I am somewhat annoyed that they do not have an option for no vehicle as a couple of my friends who are interested in going do not have cars.

Yes it is.

This year's even looks better than last year. RX-8 available on the speed course and Mazdaspeed 6 too. Methinks I'll have to make an excuse to visit friends in Miami or Atlanta.

I'm going Sunday at 12:00.

I drove the Miata a handful last time, and it was a blast.

Went today at 10AM, very nice day to be outside! Overall the Mazdaspeed 6 isn't fun, but the Miata is a blast to drive

In it for LA on Oct 28th. Driving all the way from San Diego for it. I remember it was great last year, unfortunately got a flat tire on the way home.

This years event felt better than last year's, though make sure you bring money for food this year since they are not providing it like they did last year.

The crowds this year were much smaller than last year's event, though I still wish they had more cars to drive.

And don't forget that you get a free t-shirt (same as last year's) and a year long subscription to Autoweek just for attending.

More cars as in variety or more cars as in amount? Also were there cars available with manual tranny's or were they all auto?

Variety. They should have had at least one of each of their models and model variants available.

And the Mazdaspeed 6, which you get to drive at the event, is only available in the manual.
