I haven't really listened to Jay-Z since towards the end of high school (Black Album) but it seems like he gradually sold out more and more, along with that "retirement" BS really made me lose respect for him.

I have all of his music. With the exception of American Gangster his new stuff is not as good as the old stuff but still better than a large majority of MCs in the game today.He's really transcending from just music. I just love his swag.
you cannot leave wayne out of that lineup.. he has literally thought of and memorized thousands of songs without the use of pen and paper.
i try not to include of his pop-duets of recent when ranking him...
i agree whole-heartedly with no. 1 though
