I would call BMW NA and see if there is anything they might be able to do for you.

The problem is that the dealers are independent entities, hence, demand drives the prices. The ///M cars are always sold at a markup. I guess it's the price you pay for being exclusive. It's not right, but that's the way they play it sometimes.

p.s the same kind of thing was happening with the Saturn Sky, I think.

Because if there was and now they are upping it, its called bait and switch and its very illegal.

there is a big gray area with that though. bmw can up the price of a car before delivery and its not bait and switch, if it has to do with the msrp-any 'exclusivity' fees probably fall into the bait and switch category. a few toyota dealerships in the bay area were doing that...taking deposits with set prices and then they wound up charging more for the car and it turned out it was legal for them to do that. i cant remember exactly what the circumstances were but it seems close enough.

in this case it appears that the increase is by dealership and not by bmw so yeah, you are right, they cant do that

let me guess braman has the 25k markup, my friend lives in the loft across the street wanting to buy an m5, they had a 20k markup lol

lol lol lol, it has been out for a while now...

then another consumer came up and was talking to us telling us that he negotiated it for msrp.

Good luck with your M6 purchase... i would put pressure on them about the contract, dont cancel it because if you do then they really won because they will have another floor model to mark up 25k

They fly RC jets @ markam? jesus... i used to love Rc planes, but now im kinda getting into Rc heli's

Jets are an expensive RC hobby as i understand... GL

Yes thats right braman lol, and they won't budge a inch of there markup, either will any dealer in S FLA that have one in stock. They told me to give them 2days to working something acceptable out with me...so i'll give them to the weekend.

Yes Markham park, we just got the runway extended another 250ft so now with it been 750ft it very ideal for R/C jet, usually Wednesday and sundays are the best days if you want to see a few jets flying...

I'd just walk in there with the cash amount for the MSRP plus taxs and title, and say I'll buy it now for this amount...no more.

Fuck them if they refuse.

They would be more inclined to sell it at MSRP if you financed the entire thing than bringing in a suitcase of cash-they make more money on the backend.

My gf wants an X5 so I told her some guy named Bubba is probably the one who throws it all together.

I'd love to hear the M6 exhaust; I've heard the 645 at close to WOT and it sounded almost like good ol' American muscle.

It kills me when people say this about buying cars. The finance department is one of the most profitable areas. Firstly they'd PREFER that you finance, secondly, WHEN you finance, the dealer gets a wire transfer or check right away; that's no different than if you paid cash. Cash has little or no influence when buying cars through a dealer, so please don't try that gimmick. All you'd hear is giggles from the back office.

Here's what I mean:
http://ezinearticles.com/?Paying-Cas...Car?&id=169991
________________
It's funny the false sense of security that green money holds. It's not resistant to water, fire, or wind. It rips easily and is easy to lose in a crowd. If you don't keep both eyes on it, it will disappear. If you stack it up very far it will tip over and land in a messy pile at your feet. It smells funny.

Yet those with lots of it feel they hold the magic wand.

If I sauntered up to you and said, “I'd like to give you this crispy new $50 dollar bill for the sweater you're wearing,” you'd look at me funny. You'd definitely think about it, because you know you just bought it last week for $35 and can go right back to that same store tomorrow and get another one if you sold me yours.

But, if my brother walked up next to me and said, “I'd like to give you $50 right now, and then $1 per day for the next 7 days,” you'd look at him, you'd look at me….and you'd hand him your sweater.

The same holds true with people who think that paying cash for a car will get them a better price from the auto dealership.

You walk in with $10,000 cash and make an offer to hand over your sack of money for that car over there, which lists for $13,595. Sounds like a good deal to you. The dealership gets paid their full amount right now, today, and that's that.

Meanwhile, another person walks in with an offer to pay the exact same amount for the exact same car. And they sell him the car, not you. How the heck did that happen?

Let's compare the two of you. That guy had perfect credit. So do you. That guy had a $10,000 offer, so did you. That guy needed financing. You didn't. Does that really matter? You bet your daisies it does.

Here's how:

That guy wanted to pay $10,000 for the car. That is the price they listed on the contract. His credit qualified him for the best interest rate available. For example purposes, let's say 6.5%. But, this guy didn't know what rates he qualified for, so he agreed to pay 8.9%. He also didn't know the exact math on what his payments would work out to be, but he had budgeted about $250 for his car payment. They shook hands at $246.

Back in the finance office, they were able to give him an extended warranty, GAP and Life & Disability Insurances which only raised his payments $3. He left, ecstatic with his new car warranty and with payments of $249 a month.

So, why did this guy get the car for $10,000 and you didn't? Let's do the math:

· Financing $10,000 at 6.5% for 60 months is a payment of $195.66.
· Financing $10,000 at 8.9% for 60 months is a payment of $207.10, a difference of $11.44 per month.
· Over the 60 month contract, that is $686.40 that goes right into the dealership's pocket.

But he didn't have payments of $207.10, he left happily at $249. Well, that extra $41.90 times 60 months equates to $2514 in products and profit that the finance manager was able to sell him when he signed his paperwork. That is why he was able to get so many “extras” for such a little change in payment.

Let's just say, for math purposes, that the products that the F&I guy sold him had a hard cost of $1500. That left $1014 in profit, PLUS the $686.40 of profit from the extra interest rate they charged him. On a $10,000 car, on financing ALONE, the dealership made $1700 profit. And we didn't even go into how much they owned that car for to begin with.

So, the next time you think that paying cash speaks louder than payments, think again. The dealership is watching out for their bottom line, and they know all the tricks to getting the most out of every customer. There's no magic wand that can protect you from that, no matter how hard you wave it in front of them. Without knowledge and a little due diligence, you can assure yourself the same destiny as that fragile pile of green paper lying there in front of you.

Financing $10,000 at 8.9% for 60 months is a payment of $207.10
So is that legal?
Do dealers say "OK you're getting 5.9% financing which works out to $400 per month" knowing that it's only supposed to be $350 per month?

Fuck Braman BMW and their bodyshop. I did see Anthony Mason (former Heat player) in practice warmups at the Bentley dealership section. And nobody approached me when I was in there.

I have one on order for a customer for the last 7-8 mos or so. The dealer I ordered it through says they are only getting 1, maybe 2 a month for bigger stores. I don't know how much longer it will be before I get to even specify what I want for my customer's car. Only other issue is my customer wants it in manual, not SMG, so it may take even longer before I get my order.

I highly disagree.

I used to sell cars.

You have a lot of pull when you are ready to buy NOW and come with cash in hand. Specially at the end of the month when they are trying to push as many units as they can through the door.

There are a few up by me sitting on dealership floors. All the dealers want 20k over sticker though. Otherwise you have to wait 4-5 years to get one.

Cash has no pull anymore. Finance for the dealer =$$$$$$$$. Cash = 0. If you sold cars, you should know this.

I know that with Honda, alotment received is based on allotment sold.

So, walking saying I want to buy today...and then at the end saying with cash...worked quite well.

I know not all the dealers work their alotment the same way. But cash can have a good pull.

I made my money the same regardless of how the money is received. It was up to the finance people to sell themselves and their services to make their own money.

My buddy just put his deposit down on the first M6 in the Bellevue, WA area. They wanted $25k over. He called B.S. and talked them down to "only" $5k over sticker for a total of $107k b/f TTL. I tried to talk him out of it cuz I think the car is butt ugly and very impractical. I mean, who would buy this thing when you could have a used 996 TT that would drive circles around the M6???

I totally agree. As much as I like the 6 I dont think the price justifies the product. If I HAD to stay exactly in the segment I would get the clk and if not 335ci.

Well the update is refunded $45000 of my deposit, left 5K down ( Held on my BMW credit card). BMW "Promised" my car by the end of the sept, but if i find one sooner I can still get my 5K back. I'm paying MSRP + options, no markup.

Trust me i've looked around at other cars. The problem is I need it as my day to day car, 645>650Ci from what I have read and been told, they don't have really any problems, very reliable for the most part.

Ferrari cars are not practical for daily driving, a 2001 Ferrari 355 is still going to set me back $100K with no warranty.

I've looked at Mercedes (you know what happened there). But I do like the CLS500, but they have problems.

The Porsche 911 I drive now, is an amazing car, the faster you drive it the better is handles. Its so easy to get it to 140-160mph with little effort. It gets good gas mileage. But I've had problems with it, and even though it has to seats in the back its really a 2 seater car. Also on long drives it feels cramped, kinda like flying a Lear 35A. Boot space in the front, is very small, flight case wont even fit in it.

Btw later on today i'm picking up a 2006 Land Rover LR3, for company use but it will come in handy for my RC jets on the weekend lol.

Same dealer is after me to buy there F-550. Its a 2001 with only 3500miles.
Don't get me wrong its a nice car, but not for daily use.

I'm sooooooooo In love with the new Z4 M. that car is DEAD SEXY.
I think i'd take that over a S2K,350zr, or saturn Sky redline.
yes I know it starts at 50 grand MSRP. but Chris Bangle "the man" when it comes to car designs.

A friend of mine uses his 550 as a daily driver except during the summer. Doesnt seem to give him many problems although most of his commute is local and rarely takes him out of the Bay.

Most likely not, in the mean time I just got a 2006 Audi A8 L W12 (Long version) with 10miles for a few days..... I'm told I will like it better then the BMW and CLS 500, so my boss tells me.

I'll take pictures tomorrow....

Not so fast crazy, I will write you my impressions in a few days.

One feature that is a must in any car I buy is a good sound system, when I looked at the speakers the name BOSE appeared. I look at the specs and i see it has a Bose premium 12-speaker sound system with 5-channel surround sound with lots of other features....

Now i'm a big fan of BOSE, despite what others think here, i've used several of there products and for the most part i've been pleased. I'm thinking because there is such big volume of space inside, the sound is to be the best i've heard in a long time.

I mess around with the BOSE DSP and few other funtions, can't really get it to sound right... I just came back from a 70mile drive, and i'm thinking the louder you turn the volume up the more hollow it sounds.. , I will play around with it over the next few days, Sirus don't sound all that great either and even though I can set the level of DSP on the front and rear speakers.... I have the say i'm deeply dissapointed in what i'm hearing.

$117,000 + $4000 in options and I can get a crappy sound system I can't even have the chioce to upgrade to a better sound system.

Also regarding the drivers seat which has more directional options than the space shuttle cockpit seats, I'm still trying to find that sweet spot. The leather feels fine its just with the 16-way power driver and front passenger seats, including 4-way power lumbar adjustment kinda a over kill if you ask me.

Anyways more later.......
