The saving money thing would be fine but I have a deal with my parents. I paid my first semester of school and since Ive been getting really good grades I get reimbursed. I also have 2 jobs so its not like Im totally broke lol
The cars that I posted originally can all be found for under $7k, ive looked lol
Im too tall for a miata and since I like wrenching on cars its not like Im afraid to get dirty with repairs/replacements. Right now I have a DD 92 camry so this will in effect be a project car.
I really like the ideas of the Subaru Legacy and Saab Aero. I change my find quick frequently though so I dont know how quickly ill like/dislike a car lol

I'd go with the Genesis Coupe, I test drove the 3.8 fully loaded 6sp with the touring package, and man was it full of torque and rode very sporty. There are plenty of mods out for it already. People are already reflashing the 2.0T to 260rwhp...but I would get the 3.8, cause there working on a supercharger kit as well as a twin turbo setup.
Thread opener, Just go test drive Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
Its the fastest, best looking, best quality, best reliability for its class.

94-96 Toyota camry. it's reliable and you can even get a rare 2 door and possibly the 5 speed.
how about a gs300 from the mid 90's great cars and i think the mid 90's gs400's had a v8 like they do now

Acura CLs ![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Other than that, how about these and I think Ken and dallison have some good suggestions:
Nissan 300ZX
Nissan 240SX
Toyota MR2 Spyder
Early 90's Porsche 968 - good luck finding one of those, but they are in your price range.
Late 90's 528i
Legend
GS300
These are all in the
$7000
Ballpark.

$7K on the nose- rare, low miles too- and its in your neighborhood
but seriously- I just flipped thorugh autotrader in your area- tons of potenial for your price target- there is a clean fox body GT stang with low miles that looked decent- Better to figure out what exactly what you want to end up with and then filter the cars back from there( I don't think "different" narrows the field enough)

The ad says it is a "converted" BMW M3. For fuck sake, if you say that at least have a BMW as the basis vehicle. Not a Civic....
Oh, he mentions BMW in the ad 4 times? Hmmmm, I'm thinking

yes! the gs400 had the 1uz.. same as the soarer, ls400, sc400 etc. TRD designed a supercharger for the 1uz that puts out some serious power.. i want a GS400 TRD style, but there so damn expensive.

The ones I see are beat to shit. Or they have the worst mods ever. Large FART cans coming out the back. No drop with 22 inch wheels that are not worth the chrome on them. Silver tint. Large stickers. Larger spoilers. It's a fucking disgrace what some people have done to the cars a lot of us once loved.
Just

I love cars!
Good call. Most of those are second- or third-string players. Wouldn't touch most of 'em.

A friend of mine has a Soarer (SC300), but he has a 1JZ/2JZ motor (1JZ head and 2JZ block), and he makes about 750 HP. Yes, it really is 750 and it is a freaking beast.
But the SC is a fairly reliable car, maybe not the greatest. But if you have a need for something that must go through 4 seasons (Chi-town snow), you may want AWD / 4WD

hey guys, i felt like doing something unique myself too.
i was thinking about skydiving without a parachute or bungee jumping without the cord. what other ideas are there?
unique doesnt always mean a good thing.
in the wise words of russel peter, be a man, do the right thing.

+1 on the Legend coupe, my first acura was the g1 coupe. an 89, I picked up 17 years old with just over 100k. all electronics worked perfectly, and the car was fun to drive. not a sports car but it did ok.
definetely consider a g2 coupe, just watch out for the BHG

i still say you stick it out for a sc300, or save up some cash and get an astra, not really a tuners dream but i guarentee with some good mods the car will turn heads (just dont try to race it)

I actually might be trading my daily Camry for a 98 Eclipse GS-T, would definetly fill out my qualification as something more unique to work with since I barely see those cars on the streets anymore around my area.
