License Plate Frame Rattle

I recently changed the plastic frame to a pretty heavy aluminum license plate frame. It rattles on the road sometimes if it's a little bumpy, and it makes an auful noise when closing the trunk lid.
The plate & frame are screwed on the top only, so it's the bottom that's making the noise.

How are people here getting around this? I'm guessing things like foam rubber on the back of the license plate frame won't last too long with water/heat/cold, and I don't want something that will eventually scratch the paint off the car with dirt.

You could try getting those felt pads with adhesive on the back.

If you want to just take care of the rattle for a higher price, get a dynamat xtreme license plate kit.... their adhesive is very good against heat, cold, etc. and will stay sticking. You don't need to use their frame btw

Bolt the frame to the license plate on the bottom and put the black foam blocks (at the auto parts store in the same section as the plate frames) underneath the bottom bolts/nuts.

Some cars have those black foam blocks from the factory- I think our Odyssey does- and they don't seem to wear out/come off since they are somewhat protected from the elements by the plate and plate inset in the trunk lid.

Glad you brought this up. I got some SKINS plate holders for Mothers Day, and they rattle like Hell. Very irritating. Thanks for the tips.
