Kawasaki Ninja 250R

Does anyone have any experience with the Kawasaki Ninja 250R?

I'm new to sport bikes so I'm looking for a good beginner bike. So far most of the reviews I've read about the 250R have been pretty positive & it seems like for the price you can't beat it.

And just because everyone loves pictures..

I'd like to know the answer as well. I'll be in a similar situation early next year.

For 250s, you essentially have these choices:

Honda Rebel 250
Kawa Ninja 250R
Honda CB250 Nighthwawk

or, you can go dirt bikes (XTs) or dual sports, but with the suspension rise...dunno.

Any other brand that was made within the past 5 years, and you jump immediately to 500cc's with the Buell Blast, Suz GS500E, etc.

Hubby is a rider..just started a year ago, but progressed very quickly. I showed this tread to him w/ the pic and he mentioned 250 is a waste of money. 250's are typically junior riders and you almost never see them in the US. They are also used for "light class racing". He learned to ride on a Yamaha YZF600 and even took a class sponsered by Harley where they used Buell 500cc. He highly recommends a class like this to anyone learning (they let you learn on their bikes!). PM me if you want, I'll give you his email. He's happy to give advice to fellow riders.
