Expensive? Sure, but Jay allegedy spent $250K on a bar tab last night, so it probably didn't break his bank. "The thing is, the value of that car is nothing now, you couldn't drive it on the street," DUB magazine's Myles Kovacs told MTV. "It would start malfunctioning bigtime."
Jay-Z and Kanye West are certainly presuming the car is worth far more than "nothing," however -- according to a note posted at the end of the video, they're planning to auction the Frankenbach off for charity: "The vehicle used in this video will be offered up for auction. Proceeds will be donated towards the East African drought disaster." AllHipHop confirmed the auction is legit with the rappers' reps. (The group's publicist hasn't yet responded to The Amp's request to confirm the Maybach is the real deal.) No word how or when the vehicle will be sold off, but potential buyers should presumably plan to host lavish Watch the Throne listening sessions in the car rather than go cruising in it.

Who cares. Kanye was only good when he first came out and Jay-Z was last good way before anyone knew who Kanye was.
They have my respect for the money they have. But the way they're getting it isn't all too different from how Justin Bieber is getting it.

Maybachs depreciate 17,000 a month. Plus Simon Cowell has one. Their ugly anyway. Besides guys lighten up, its going to charity. They could've driven it off a cliff who cares.

Love the vid and the song. Too bad it is the only good song on the CD (IMO). As for the Maybach, it is "artistic expression". Who cares about the car. Do you know how much videos cost to make? Like Ruby said (post #14) they could have very well drove it off of a cliff.
I think the auction part is just a biproduct of the artistic expression. Any money that they can get for it will be a plus. Otherwise it would probably go in the dumpster.
