Thanks all! I've been looking at exhausts and intakes (leaning FabSpeed) but we'll see. I have the stock exhaust with the PSE hack, but looking for a little more of a mean sound.

Looking at this exhaust: http://www.fabspeed.com/996-carrera-...xhaust-system/

And this intake (prefer oil-less): http://www.fabspeed.com/996-carrera-...intake-system/

^ Yeah, it's a lot to spend for cats. I think the combo of the intake and exhaust will be pretty bad ass

Just a few fall pics I snapped last week in the community.

I also ordered the intake mod/upgrade which is basically a silicone hose and cap for the air box. A little more free-flowing and costs $765 less then the Fabspeed intake .

Beautiful home too! Man I think I'm getting old.

What are your plans for the exhaust? I thought there was a Porsche tax on the Fabspeed intake, but then I saw it. Does that air diverter plate really need to be carbon?

^ Thanks Costco.

The car already has the PSE hack... so just going to keep that and do the intake mod. Not worth spending all that money IMO... especially when people who have installed it report minimal gains. It sounds good now... should sound great after I install the intake stuff.

Everything actually just arrived today, so may be able to install it this weekend after my race. We'll see how tired I am Sunday

Oh and LOL at me as I edited my post above b/c the smiley wasn't showing and lost my thanks

^ Thanks

I thought about changing them for a split second (b/c I usually change my wheels), but they just work so well with the car that I decided to keep them. The last owner had good taste

So I did the intake mod yesterday and it was super simple. So easy that I had to go onto the forum to make sure I did it right. It took about 15 minutes, and that included getting tools out and unpacking the box the tube came in. For ~$35 all in I'd say it was a good mod. And from reading the forum, a full intake does not do that much more then this setup... so I'll keep the ~$765 saved in my pocket for something else.

Sorry for the terribly awful pics, but the flash on my phone does not work and the garage lights were blocked by the engine lid... so lighting was not the best. But you get the idea . Below is the before and after.

Took it out to an event last night and the sound is definitely even sweeter. Not sure if there's a power difference... the butt dyno says yes... but it may be impacted by the sound. Either way, I'm very happy with it.

I can't believe you're considering selling this! Even if it's for a CTS-V.

I know. I actually went and read through this topic and was just thinking I'm nuts. Maybe I can trade the FJ for the CTS-V

Trade a 996 cabriolet for a V-agon? Nope. Don't do it. I think the winter weather is messing with your head.

Upside is V Wagon Auto isn't hard to find. When I was looking, they were pretty easy to find (relatively speaking).

And regardless of tranny, V Wagon will make your wife a happier person. Also it can haul your 25lb dog

I think we'll have to make a trip with the dog in the Porsche, then decide.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards keeping it. Even my wife was like... just keep the Porsche.

As for the pics from the fall... no, those are from my neighborhood in Weddington.
