FWIW, the door handle window microswitch is not as bad as folks make it out to be. There's a good YouTube video on how to remove the side panel and side airbag. I did the drivers door and took ~1 hour.

Sweet car, congrats!

I love the stereo setup too - had no idea an iPad could fit into a Porsche dash that cleanly.

Even if i am doing 80-90 i still get 25 or better. Don't worry about changing the cabin air filter, what's the point? i couldn't even tell you if the wipers work either.
Just an fyi, these seats are very comfortable for those 3-400 mile trips. They are much better than the tsx.
If you don't already have a windscreen, invest in one. It is well worth it and you can tolerate highway speeds with the top down.

Yeah, iPad mini fits in pretty cleanly. I haven't had too much time to mess with it but I'll check it out this week...

haha. Depends. The cops love to patrol the roads we take to the beach b/c it's pretty much the main route from here to there... so it's quite the revenue generator for them. I'll be good, but I'm also getting a V1 soon

Good call on the windscreen. Been thinking about it and have been reading good things. Cabin filter will probably be more for the winter when the top is up a bit more. It only takes a few seconds to change and is good to keep clean with the allergens we have down here.

Finally had some time to clean it up a bit yesterday. Only thing left is to figure out how to put the hardtop rack together

I also was able to get it registered yesterday as well... so can't wait to start enjoying it. I have a race this weekend but we are heading to the beach afterwards, so that will likely be our first trip in it...

Anyway, few quick pics from the driveway. Not the best quality as it was late in the evening (around 7:30pm), but you get the idea . You can see the FJ in the background as well. Figured while I was washing cars I may as well give that a once over since it was filthy and hadn't been washed in some time...

Put the hardtop rack together yesterday, so hoping to pop the hardtop off tonight so I can enjoy some top down driving this weekend!

Outside of the go-kart I raced last year... most fun I've had on 4 wheels. Haven't pushed it too much yet as I'm still getting used to it (and its been a while since I've had a manual). Also been messing with the air pressures. When I got it the rears were at 45 and the front at 39 . Lowered it to 43/38, but after some reading today I'm going to go with 40/35 which is what Porsche recommends on the 997 on 19"'s... so that should get me closer.

My buddy is coming over and we're about to pop the hard top off so I can use it as a convertible

Below are some good pics from the seller (in addition to the ones in the OP), and my crappy pic from last night in the garage. My dad ended up coming over to help pop the top off... then we went for a spin

Hey JB, what are you going to do about that driver's seat bolster? Can you have that repaired as a segment or have to do the whole seat?

Dc automotive is down your way. they specialize in p-car parts. I had purchased a lower control arm for the boxster a few years ago and it was in great shape and decent price. You can sometimes negotiate prices with them.

A little late but congrats JB. I thought for sure you would end up in a C6 Vert'.

That's a nice pick up though. Someone spent all the money and you get to enjoy the fruits of his labor/wallet.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm reaping the benefits from his work. He's getting married, so his nuptials worked in my favor

Cool... good to know. I'll check them out. I also have GMP Performance here, which could be dangerous

Quick update... took the car to the beach this weekend. Drove great and it was tough to keep it civil. Averaged about 27mpg going, 26.5 coming home... so not too shabby...

^ Yeah, can't complain. And it got about 8-10 more MPG then my truck... so even with the premium requirement it's still cheaper for the long trips

Quick pics after a nice wash and wax over the 4th of July weekend at my parents house. Haven't clay-barred it yet, but the original owner took great care of it as the finish is already very smooth...
