I filled up yesterday at 4PM. Already gulped down half a tank. I will say though.. the low-fuel warning kicks in with a 2 gallon reserve. Considering that 2 gallons may only get you 6 miles.. maybe not all that conservative.

As long as I can get a full work week on a tank I will be happy. That will be 40-50 miles a day for 4 days. However, if traffic is light on the back road I usually like to open it up through the twisty sections so that might not work from what you guys are saying.

Those 100 miles weren't driving miss daisy..

I opened it up a few times. A guy on a harley did a flyby on me on a split 4 lane back road to egg me on. So I puttered next to him for a bit until we came up to a sweeping elbow bend. I hit suspension in sport mode and flew past him on the outside, then opened her up just in case he had the idea he'd do a flyby again. I backed down and he gave me the thumbs up.

Maybe 30% of those miles were puttering through town / stop-go on the freeway. I'm guessing your first few weeks commute to work might be a stretch (because hooligan), but you should be able to get a whole week of commuting between fill-ups, no problemo.

Umm, after this weekend I'm thinking you may have trouble doing this. It may be close.

I had almost a full tank of gas.... one line below full (so about 1/8th below full). Went to visit a friend in Cornelius on Saturday. No hard driving... maybe got on it once to show him the acceleration... but it was almost all cruising to his house, then from his house to the track (went to watch a kart race) and back. Got home that night and had slightly more than an 8th of a tank left. Drove to a friends house the next morning, then on the way back took the pic above b/c I was nearly touching "E". I'm just estimating here... but maybe 175 miles on that tank with about 140 of that on Saturday... and mostly cruising. I'm going to start keeping track, but I really don't want to. . The dash readout said I was getting 11.8 mpg and I reset that when I filled up last time and this last tank was about 80% highway. Before I reset it it was 9.9 MPG...

Unlike the Vette I'm convinced this thing doesn't get great highway MPGs. Probably something like 20-22mpg highway, but the second you exit it's like 10mpg... so averages out to be pretty low. Like I said, I'm going to start tracking nbext tank out of curiosity... but I'm afraid of the results.

If you can stay off the pedal I think you'll be OK. If not, I think you'll be at the gas station by Thursday morning....

PS, just to give you an idea... when I accelerated to show them the speed I had 4 people in the car (me and the wife plus the other couple). I was on it from 0 to maybe 70mph on a back road. First thing my wife says... "well, that was a gallon of fuel". While they laughed I cried a little inside b/c she likely wasn't far off...

Oh no doubt. And it's purely a weekend car and even sometimes for short trips we'll take the Jeep out... so for me it doesn't matter. Even getting 10mpg I'll likely go 1-2 weeks between fill-ups. But as a daily it takes some serious self-control

I use an app called Road Trip on my iPhone. I think it's like $5.99 for the full version. I love it though because it keeps track of MPG, maintenance, road trips, etc. I keep track of the Charger and my wife's Rav4.

Although the Charger isn't great on gas, your guys Vs are making me feel much better about my overall 18.51 MPG. Not too many tank fills ago I did only get 15.48 MPG on it. That hurt a bit. But I see 25-26 MPG on the highway. That is until Supercharger lol.

I will not be very worried about tires. Right now I get terrible camber wear with the F being lowered and there being no front camber kit for it that works for cars that are lowered a lot so I go through fronts in like 15k miles. Tires for the V have to be better than that. I get 30k out of my rears though. So if I can get 30k out of both I will be super happy.

Premo here is $2.51

I have a similar app I use called aCar. I will have to check out road trip so see if they have an Android version.

I think the supercharger is actually what causes the lower mileage cause the same thing happened to my TSX. I am running 10.5lbs of boost and the best I can do now on the highway is 24mpg.

Of course.. I'm sure tires last a lot longer if it wasn't so fun peeling them back.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about fuel. I paid $2.37/gallon for that fill-up. So not the end of the world. I will say that I am due for new rears soon... so will be fun when I order them and put these into their grave.

I got 15-17k miles on three sets of stock PS2s between two Vs.

I expect closer to 20k on PSSs, which have better tread wear than the PS2s, are a better tire overall, and are hundreds cheaper.

Fuel economy on pure freeway trips is around 19-20 at 80 mph, that is, right at the EPA rating. If you stick to a typical Eastern speed limit of 65-70, you'll hit 22 mpg.

On the official neuronbob daily city-highway work-home-work circuit, I get 15 mpg. I have a Fuelly for my V, I'll edit this post later with it.

Fuelly is the bomb, and free. I just open the "app" and plug in odometer reading, # of gallons, price, city driving %, etc, and it stores it all for me in a nice interface. I have the ST's entire gas life on Fuelly.

Tirerack did a test on them.. tough choice. The PSS have beastly lateral traction, but only did okay in straight line performance (braking being the biggest margin). Probably why the tread wear is so good. Tough decision.. with El Macho Nino coming through, should be pretty wet around these parts.

The thing I hate about the Fuelly app is that it forces you to use your trip odometer, it doesn't allow you to use the actual odometer reading between fill-ups. I use GasCubby.

They are, but the logs from GasCubby do not upload to Fuelly's website or vice versa. I recently had to start fresh on GasCubby after updating the firmware on my phone. I thought the logs were on GasCubby's server, but I attempted to sync after the update and nothing would download.

Excellent hyrdoplaning protection. I've been through heavy downpours with the PSS on and it was like being in dry conditions. Below about 40 degrees things get sketchy in the rain and I have to slow down, though.....but that's what winter tires are for.

In my case, I've used Fuelly on the V since it was new, so the odometer mileage is the same as the total mileage. I don't see it as a big deal, though.

My Fuelly, updated to the last fill-up this morning:

What do you mean you can't use your overall odometer reading? That's exactly what I use.

Are you using Android? The iPhone app only has the option to insert "trip miles" since the last fill-up. I was so annoyed that GasCubby lost all my logs that I downloaded the Fuelly app again to check if they had changed to odometer readings, but found it nowhere in the settings

I tried to download Fuelly for the Android but it's just an app that links to their website. Am I missing something? You also need to create an account?

I'll just stick to dividing the mileage by gallons each time and not track it

You do need to create an account. I recommend you register, you can log maintenance reminders and keep tabs on more than one vehicle.

I decided to log into the desktop version of the site and poke around their forum. I did a search and found a thread which explained how to edit your vehicle to allow odometer entries when logging fuel-ups. Went back to the app and it works!
