With an automatic, you'll do great at the drag strip. All the fastest Vs on the strip are automatic.....
Yeah, it's going to be easy to get this going fast.

Right now just planning intake and exhaust. Possibly a throttle body. Exterior likely wheels, some black accents, and full splitter kit. Oh, and a V1

Don't have any track days planned but the facility where I race karts has a full road course, so it may find its way on there

Technically, yes I can, but I have to get my hands on one first and they are not easy to get a hold of right now.

V1 is a great "mod". I can't get enough of mine and can't recommend it enough. The arrows are seriously a lifesaver. Well worth the price tag! Look into a blendmount for a seamless look: https://store.blendmount.com/blendmo...-cts-p405.aspx

(Disclosure, that may not be the exact part/fit for your car)

Congrats on the purchase!! Looks !!

^ Thanks!

Yeah, I had a V1 for my TLS and loved it. I imagine we'll take a lot of trips in this including back and forth to our beach house... so the V1 will certainly come in handy.

Thanks for the link for the Blendmount. I remember looking at those a while ago but couldn't remember the name of the product!

V wagons come from the factory with a dog net. It separates the passenger compartment from the hatch area if you want to keep your dog in the back. I forgot to mention that you should make sure you have that...I still have mine, though I haven't used it much.

LOL, you guys are too funny. Don't get me wrong, we love kids... but I like my toys more. We're looking at one more investment property... so maybe after that and we have our retirement plans set we'll think about a kid

Also, did my first "mod" last night. Was heading to my parents and saw that the bumper plugs had arrived, so grabbed them on my way out. My dad was finishing washing their cars, so grabbed a screwdriver and drill and popped the bumper plugs in. Super easy install and they match perfectly.

BTW, is it weird that I am apprehensive to go WOT? Still getting used to the car and got on it a bit last night and damn, this thing is fast. Deceptively fast though. In the Porsche you felt the speed. In this thing it feels like you're in a jet... you know you're going fast but you really don't feel it. Gotta say so far, I'm in love with this car.

That's what sh.... nevermind

But yeah, still getting the feel for it. Better safe than sorry. Plus, outside of a track this is definitely the most power I've had underneath me on the road...

That's what I've been saying! Not just the weight, but the very little exhaust feedback. You feel numb but you're freaking flying. I got on it yesterday just a bit because I had some guy tailing me again. I left him like he was standing still, no drama. I wouldn't have known otherwise that I was accelerating so quickly otherwise. Install radar detection ASAP.

I've had the whole tail swing on me with TC on + stabilitrak during launch but it's super compliant (weight + controls + long wheelbase). Don't worry about WOT. Have fun! Just watch your throttle on the corners, but you know that.

Also watch the 2nd - 3rd shift. Pretty common to lose some traction but thennn....

You'll probably want to wait a month or so to get a feel for her before thinking about more ponies... at least 3 weeks.

That's totally it and now I get it. The interior is so insulated (which is a good thing) that, except for a very low whine from the S/C, you do not hear anything. I left my parents neighborhood out the back entrance and just did a 1/2-3/4 throttle. I was like, hmm... I feel like I should be going faster than I was when I did this in the Porsche. Looked down and was doing 86 mph. I was like "oh shit" and backed off.

I'm still getting used to it so haven't been aggressive in the turns yet. Need to get a better feel for the handling... but I'll keep that 2nd/3rd shift in mind...

Right now I'm thinking intake and exhaust... but likely not until later in the year. I think I'll chill for a bit so the wife doesn't get too mad at me

I had the same exact feeling in my brothers 1LE Camaro. Then I winded it out to triple digits on the third time I drove it I thought I was doing 80-90

All of this happened in Mexico, of course.

The V-Wagon is no joke. What I loved about driving it was the fact that is didn't matter how fast you were going, thing pulled like a freight train! I'd be going 70 on the hwy, mash the peddle and the thing would knock me back into the seat and climb to triple digits all while letting me know there was a lot more.

Unfortunately for me, I drove it for a week in NYC and kid you not when I say I averaged 8mpg! Granted, I had it in Sport mode the entire time and every stop light I felt I had to give it a little workout! totally awesome car!

Looks good, JB! I'd love to see it Saturday, but I'm totally not feeling getting up early this weekend after the week I've had . Somebody needs to come up with Cars and Beer at 5:00PM instead of Cars and Coffee at 8:00AM. And don't wait on getting the exhaust...it's the best mod you can get.

Mod #1: Airaid intake. Then you can HEAR the intake. The stock unit has so many baffles to hide the supercharger whine that it's pathetic. The type of Cadi owner who'd buy a V knowingly, doesn't want a quiet car.

Mod #2: EXHAUST. The wagon has more soundproofing than the sedan, likely because of the open cabin with hatch. Where I could hear the stock exhaust in my sedan, I couldn't hear jack in my wagon. I had an exhaust on before I had 1000 miles on my then new wagon.

With those two mods, you will have no trouble hearing what kind of speeding ticket you are in for. You really don't need any other mods than that right now, until you get used to the speed.

Oh yeah, Mod #3: Radar detector. That is, unless you are good friends with a traffic ticket lawyer. I guarantee, you will need it in this car. Get a (Mod #4) Blendmount for stealth on-rear view mirror install like I've got in my car, and it's a two-minute exercise to hardwire a V1.
